Thank you, glad it's not just me. This update's really disappointing when none of your games work.

I guess I'll just move back to 4.5 and wait for an update.

Move back to 4.5? You cannot downgrade your Nintendo 2DS to version 4.5.X. Unless, of course, you mean you have another 3DS (XL) that can be downgraded.

For anyone apprehensive, most of the things needed to set this all up are pretty fool proof. Or at least noob friendly, I'm sure there's someone that will screw it up. Confirming my M&L Dream Team Grey XL console (usa) which was on 7.1 was successfully exploited, downgraded to 4.2, and updated emunand to 9.4. As recommended by a user earlier I deleted my wifi settings in sysnand (only setup in emunand) as well as set up parental controls for sysnand, and popped a nice yellow them on the emunand to help differentiate immediately. Booting from "nintendo ds profile" working great. (though it froze once not sure what that was about) Have not tried doing the exploit from browser on 4.2 as I dont want to setup wifi anymore but I believe this would work as well. This is awesome guys. The waiting is done, Its time to game.

The EmuNand thing. I was thinking, since the beginning, that I needed Emunand to play the games.

No, it isn't required, but for newer games that require a newer firmware, EmuNAND will allow you to copy your system NAND to an SD card that allows for the firmware to updated.

EmuNAND only sounds complicated, there's nothing complicated about it, just a virtual copy of your system that you can update to the latest version without updating your main system, and thanks to gateway it's very easy, like 3 steps.

Are people in here following Sonyusa's Guide on maxconsole? I feel like they arent.

Anytime you power off the console or exit the settings menu it will kick you back to sysnand.

I'm aware!

Try creating a folder inside emunand ?

For me themes work as a distinction method, but then again i'm on <4.5 and my sysnand doesn't support them.

I'll settle for the folders but I really wanted to have different themes on both just to make it easier. :<

Welp I wouldn't blame them. This update looks really content heavy. It's just a pity N3DS users are left in the shadows for now. :/ Let's give them at least 2 weeks, see where it leads.

true but if you think about it IT'S NOT FAIR on us because you guys only bought a Gateway card,WE imported useless region locked N3DS consoles & Gateway cards this is how much trust we put in this Gatewait team yet they leave us in last place !! there is no appreciation with thi$ team. now garyopa accrording to the guy above say's they're tired (time to sit down & count the rewards of this new downgrade feature).

anyway retired hype train driver did you downgrade your 3ds xl to 4.x ? :) if so do you still wanna do that review ? email you know who & let them know.

True. I know that pain all too well. It sucks majorly. :/ .. You guys will just have to wait it out a bit.. Nothing else I can add or say that'll ease the pain of waiting. :/ ... ' Been there, done that '.

And 'naw, didn't downgrade (scaredy-cat for it) :x .. So I probably won't still be able to do it, sorry bruh. Thanks for remembering though!

Life's not fair. God knows that nobody said you wouldn't have to wait. Good things come, so on and so forth.

Yeah, they'll probably take a day or two, then get back to work. They deserve that much.

Oww, that's a big relief! EmuNand was the thing that I could not understand! Thanks a lot <3 *happy like a manatee*
What exactly about it do you not understand? It will be necessary for you to play any games released that require a newer firmware than what your current system firmware is. The emunand is simple. The gateway creates a seperate partition on the 3ds sd card. This partition has a copy of the current system nand installed into it. The gateway makes the 3ds load that nand file and use it as if it were the nand that is installed in the 3ds. So, when you first set up the emunand, it is a copy of the nand currently in the 3ds. The benefit of having an emunand is, if you buy a physical game or download a rom that requires a newer or higher version firmware, you can update the emunand to that version. This will allow you to play newer games while never having to upgrade the actual firmware in the 3ds. This leaves the exploits or vulnerabilities that exist in the firmware which allow you to load the gateway, intact while still allowing newer games to be playable. It also allows you to access the eshop for game updates or eshop purchases without being forced to update the actual system. The catch is, we have to wait for Gateway to upgrade the loader to be able to emu-late the new nand every time nintendo releases an update. If you accidentally update the emunand before gateway releases an update, it will stop working. That is why it is a great idea to not only backup and safely store your system nand but the emunand as well. there is a tool floating around designed for just that purpose. If you happen to update emunand and you have a backup, you can restore the backup using the emunand tool. This does not work for system nand yet. That required a hardware modification to do before now. Probably just a matter of time now. I hope this helps and you now realize the cool benefits of emunand. It also explains why, if you look back at the other discussions about this update, all of us were concerned that this update would not have emunand for the newer firmware consoles.

Nobody likes to impatient people. Everybody has to wait for things in their life sometimes, and if you live in a big city, you have to wait for things pretty much every day. Complaining about it gets you nowhere, and just gets on other peoples' nerves.

Empathy is fine when there's a real problem at hand, but this is a first-world problem at best, and a total non-issue at worst.

Yeah but having empathy is easier while you are playing with your 3ds, and if you have missed the post two people liked it so much for nobody liking, and one thing is to wait a little an another very different thing is to wait for something that is supposedly finished since middle November, something that also gets on people nerves is that 90% of the people here was complaining too, the update gets out for their systems , and suddenly they ride on their high horses and look down on another people that are just doing what they were doing days ago.
