SPI fail is a bug I believe cause I got a fail on Ultra 3.0 but then downgraded back to 2.7 omega and tested it and they all passed

Also does this exploit always need internet to load? Its kind of a hassle to boot it like that all the time.

Wait for Gateway to fix things before posting them. Your cart isn't broke though, it's firmware related.

They don't check to make sure it's OFF, just let it go to sleep mode and put it in your pocket or something. I flew two weeks ago and they let me keep my e-reader out, so...

Having to be online to start the exploit on higher than 4.5 is definitely a backwards step.

I haven't got a Gateway, and I've tried to boot Classic Mode through the launcher. It says it will work without Gateway, just gimped, yet I just get black screens when I try. Have I done something wrong?

You MUST verify that the OSD appears and do NOT enter/exit settings if you plan to update this way, or you WILL overwrite sysNAND!

I did a diagnostic test on 2.7, SPI was fine, update to 3.0, SPI says fail.

Think I'm gonna buy a new micro sd. My class 2 4gb is taking forever just to backup the nand.
can anyone please confirm what abilities this exploit has without gateway?

backing up your nand and dumping carts.....thats probably about it.....i would imagine they will lock the downgrade feature to require the GW card to perform it..........unless they are a bit silly and let people use the crappy 4.x cfw without buying a GW card

Why? You just need it once everytime you start the 3DS AND you can downgrade!!!

To get to EmuNAND, first you have to "Format EmuNAND" in the Gateway menu, which will erase your SD card.
Then boot up Classic mode or Gateway mode. Go to your settings, and make sure your version number has GW3D before it. If it does, WITHOUT EXITING SETTINGS, update the system.

EMUNAND ONLY WORKS FROM 4.5 AND BELOW. WHICH IS WHY THEY DID THE DOWNGRADE FUNCTION!

EmuNAND is working on my 9.2.0-20U XL.

2. How can you difference emunand since Gateway Mode doesn't show in the firmware name with a GW?
