(well unless you get a card removed error when starting a card1 game, that would suggest a faulty SPI chip.....but if your games work you are ok)

It seems that entering the settings menu and closing it exits gateway mode. Annoying

I think it's been like that for a while, on previous versions too.

yes. backup SD files, format emunand at GW menu, and viola, and you can updated it but only do so at the eshop menu

I think something must be wrong with mine... Whenever I launch a game I get the Card is broken error and it returns only to to the home menu...
Got it from a official reseller too... Hm...

To all those with SPI FAILS after the hardware upgrade: Do games still work and save? If so, then it could be a bug in the diagnostics. If it's a real SPI FAIL, games won't work.

3DS games still run and save fine, i tested that already

Whenever I go to settings, its just its regular 9.2 stuff. On some videos I watched, I see GW 9.x (or whatever)
Whats all that about? What do you benefit from that? (Sorry for nooby questions)

emunand lets you update the system and your games without actually updating the console itself

JUST CHECKED AND SPI FAILS AFTER UPGRADING THE CART, I TRIED THE DIAGNOSTIC BEFORE AND IT PASSED. MAYBE IT'LL BE FIXED WHEN THEY RELEASE THE FULL VERSION

Biggest problem is the need to go online everytime to trigger the exploit, especially
outside when there is no wifi - or just public wifi where you can not block
the FW update by firewall. So catching the 9.4+ update by accident will be a problem.

What to do if you are traveling and you want to play while driving the train,
or more worse - take the flight, have to switch off all electronics at start - no gaming the whole
12 hours of flying.

I have two 3DSs. One on 4.5 and one on 9.2

My 9.2 was going to black screens after an initial success.

I managed to downgrade the Gateway back to 2.7 on the 4.5 by holding R when opening the file and flashing the card again, then reupgraded to 3 and now I can boot it, at least for now. I still get SPI errors on 3.0 but NOT on 2.7 though. Odd

Finally my 9.2.0-20e fw connect gateway mode. Seems there is litle rush on gateway-3ds.com url. now backing up 9.2 nand just in case
