I kind of wish I had just bought a Sky3DS. If I had known the update would take this long I would have, but it seems like their stringing along tactics worked.
If we are talking March I have a shiny unused new xl just waiting to be played. I need something. Guess I could... Buy a game :/

If you have money to literally throw away go ahead, as soon as the update comes out it's worthless.

Sure.. Why not.

Congratulations. Mtcard had mutli rom first but that doesn't mean it's a better product.

Huh? The hell does that have to do with anything?

There's nothing wrong in buying a Sky3DS. I've got two systems. One on 9.4 and on 8.1.. What's the problem?

I'm sure gateway will give me more functionality and overall use. I'm not saying Sky is better. It's a great temporary solution.

As much as I want to join in on moping party with all people sour over that stupid 48h thing, I'm personally not going to get all up in arms over it. For one thing, garyopa was the messenger, not the person actually releasing the update. Gateway gave him a time, and it was wrong. Big deal, this already happened like 5 times before, why is it such a big deal now? And for those who stated that Gateway said before the end of the week, might I also remind you that they stated this towards the very end of the last week and not the beginning. It's very well possible that the "end" of last week and the "end" of this week is the same week they were actually referring to, and it lines up fairly well with the 48h/2-3 days/random kid who wanted to play with his Gateway before school prediction made previously, because they were obviously aiming for this week for a release. Garyopa is still confident(ish) in a release this week, and most everyone over at MaxConsole is also somewhat confident. Garyopa still has to make guides and prepare forum support for Gateway's 9.2 update so they can only tell him "2-3 days" before he can't stand it himself. The release is soon, but even if it's not now that's not reason to get all butthurt over it.

If you're really that bored, just to buy a game or something. VVVVVV is excellent on PC if you're into platformers, or if you want to get frustrated at something else besides Gateway Super Meat Boy is also a great option. Or, better yet, just buy some cartridge games for your 3DS while you wait.

Stop believing nonsense, GW is stringing everyone along and they have been for months.
It's time to accept we're getting it later rather than sooner.

True, GW really need some competition. Please DSTWO+, do us all a favour and release your stuff. Watch GW release whatever they have immediately. Sigh

Absolutely nothing, I'd say. If you want to play 3ds roms right now, then it's even your only option. Gateway has been screwing all of us for way too long now, Sky3DS is a fair alternative if you just want to play roms.

And to all the people saying it will be worthless when the update comes out: wake up, really. Even if GW would release 'anytime soon' (lol), would you stillput your faith in this company? Apart from everything, they have showed they have 100% experience in keeping their customers unsatisfied, information wise. Any company should know better than to keep their customers in the dark for nearly two months, and there is simply no excuse for that.

If you're going to recommend a PC game to pass the time, be sure to mention The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

It's the most addicting game of the year.

I don't think there's anything necessarily "wrong" in buying it but it's a full priced card that most won't use once Gateway comes out and others won't use once it's blocked.

Well, I agree.. and ultimately I should have remember that it isn't invincible. Truly, I'm sure once it's blocked it'll have no use.. But then... I just buy the games. I'm already starting to build a nice JP collection. :)

What is everyone doing to pass the time waiting? inb4 staring at countdown and posting here

Because even if we assume the Gateway update won't come out until March, Sky will still be blocked, and they will still ask their customers to buy another Card to get around it.
GW could update in May and string us along with "the end of the week" the whole time and they'd still be less scummy than requiring customers to buy 3 cards in what will likely be less than a year.
