Well, a day after they replied to my email, they announced the news about those newer firmwares.

You know what? This is a really shitty way to run a company. If I was running a company that sold products generating a thousand pages of forum posts, I'd confirm something so there isn't so much open dislike of everything I was doing. For that matter, I'd release a version every time I hacked it, not wait until I hacked them all and forcing the people who sold their 3DS and bought N3DS because I said the update was 'around the corner'. This sucks, man.

Do you own a company that sells illegal products? I think not.

Can you boot right into emunand with the 4.5 exploit or do you have to go first into the sysnand, and then boot over. Theres no way currently to bypass the nag?

When you turn off the 3DS, it reverts back to sysnamd, so you need to activate the exploit again by going to the ds profile thing. (I don't know how it will be on the newer firmwares though...)
