I recently installed Gateway 2.7 launcher.dat to 128 GB SD with 9.2 emunand. Booted into emunand, updated emunand to 9.4. Upon reboot into 9.4 emunand devmenu and bigbluemenu no longer launch either from installed CIA from emunand or 3DS rom from red gateway card. Has anyone experienced this? I tried reformatting emunand, tried launching devmenu and bigbluemenu from the gateway red card on a freshly formatted 4.4 emunand. I get "an error has occurred forcing the software to close. The system will now restart." Really stumped as devmenu worked as installed cia on 128 GB SD with Gateway 2.6 launcher and 9.2 emunand.

SD is not new was updating from 2.6 Gateway and 9.2 emunand. I read your posts from the other thread and tried reformatting emunand. I did make a backup of emunand.bin with emunand tool 1.01 prior to updating to 9.4. Other SD card sizes work for launching devmenu or bigbluemenu. Not sure why all of a sudden my 128 GB will not launch devmenu or bigbluemenu. Other installed cia files worked fine just not the dev tools. Any clues? Your posts are greatly appreciated.

the MCDO thanks for the tip. I will try that. Just kinda bummed as I lost a 100% completed save of Zelda ALBW that took forever to achieve. Does anyone have an idea as to why this would happen and is it isolated only to emunand on a 128 GB SD?

I deleted the 943 MB partition. Then wiped the SD card completely by filling with all zeroes using MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition. Then formatted to Fat32 32kb cluster size with GUIformat. Now copying 90+ GB of video files as the MCDO suggested bedfore I reformat emunand with Gateway 2.7 on 3DS. I will post results once complete. Again thank you everyone for the support. I have a 64 GB to fall back on if all else fails.

Yes, I delete the unallocated 1024 mb (1.00 gb)partition. The wipe the full 119 gb partition to all zeroes. Re-create emunand but they will not launch. Could Nintendo have blacklisted them? I think not because they run fine on my 64 GB. I purchased the 128 gb to allow more cia installs. That is why this is driving me crazy. I really do not have an ideas that I have not already tried. Everyone's ideas have been used, unfortunately non have solved the issue. All posts have truly been appreciated.

Appreciate the reply!

So emuNAND works fine on your 64gb SD, but not your 128gb SD. You're using identical sets of files for each card (I'm assuming) so that rules out any data corruption in the Gateway files. This really just leaves the 128gb SD either being faulty or incorrectly formatted.

I would recommend formatting your card and using H2testw 1.4 (or whatever method you like, I prefer H2test though) to check it for any issues.

Will try. Thanks

Edit: Emunand works on the 128gb, the strange thing is all installed cia files will run from emunand except bigbluemenu or devmenu meaning I have no method to import more cia files as the programs refuse to run from red gateway card or emunand. The 3DS gods are having their way with me. When I first got the 128 gb sd, I backed up emunand from 64 gb sd with emunand tool 1.01 and then formatted emunand on the 128 gb and finally injected emunand.bin into the 128 gb emunand. After doing this the emunand worked fine including bigbluemenu while on emunand 9.2. Upon release of Gateway 2.7 I installed to sd, updated emunand to 9.4 and was greeted with a no longer functioning bigbluemenu.

I...see. That's very strange. I still haven't got my Gateway yet so my understanding of your issue is pretty limited, but it sounds like the problem is likely software than hardware if the issue started when you updated emuNAND to 9.4.

I would suggest backing up everything, then doing a fresh emuNAND install, update to 9.4, and see if bigbluemenu/devmenu work. It could be that, for some reason, data from your 9.2 emuNAND is disagreeing with the 9.4 emuNAND.

Again, I haven't got a Gateway yet, so forgive me if my suggestions are retarded.

I attempted this yesterday. Reformatted card, place 2.7 launcher.dat on sd, launch settings, other settings, profile, nds profile while holding L. In gateway menu I select format emunand, press start. Emunand formats. Upon completion of format. Launch gateway mode. Setup wifi access, update emunand through settings. Launch emunand 9.4. Press select on home screen select bigbluemenu from gateway multirom menu. Launch bigbluemenu and get "an error has occurred forcing the software to close. The system will now restart." I only write all my steps as if there is something I am doing wrong, please feel free to correct me. I will say the first time I installed emunand on the 128 was formatting and updating to 9.2. At this point everything was working fine. The update to 9.4 sent my ability to launch bigbluemenu which I need to install cia files to gateway purgatory. I am about halfway through your recommended H2testw 1.4 write/verify test. I will be sure to update results upon completion. Thanks again for all the support.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?

    not really

It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced

@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament

maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
