Over on reddit /u/bunnei did the following post

While this may not look like much, it has taken a huge team effort to get this far and I believe it means that the project is close to running more titles! Here it is, the first screenshot of any 3DS emulator running a commercial game, the loading screen when booting Ocarina of Time: http://imgur.com/3jJT5TG

2015 shapes up to be an interesting year.

I have to agree, it is damn exciting. This is the first major step to running 3ds games.

good thing he did point it out for people who actually DON´T since nothing usefull hapenned in there for months by now

yeah, nothing exciting except the exact screenshot he linked to, along with almost identical explanation of said screenshot.

yup and most of us (or at least me, it´s just guessing) would have never or way later stumbled over that because everyone is used to knowing the threadtitle (which btw didn´t change) of that place and afaik not watching any updates in there anymore, since it has been nothing short of hot air in the meantime

But let´s let this rest, it´s off-topic and useless, i´m happy about the news, and that´s the point of the thread, isn´t it?

Actually not quite the same. Very similar yes. But it is the first commercial game that is not a demo that has been done. Not a big update. But I thought it be worth to post it as it's own news to refresh the mind of people and make them aware that there are small steps been taken.

THAT (i know, unnecessary, but still got to quote it)
>2016 update
>Still can't run shit, but the Triforce is no longer upside down
Such a stupid interpretation of a photo can just come from someone who doesn´t know jack about emulator-developement, seriously...
Last big update we got had us using basic virtual hardware-features, now it´s actually nearly correctly interpreting code from retail-games. You just can´t see how much of a gap got cleared by this

I'm glad Citra is winning over 3dmoo, It's good to see the progress of the FIRST 3DS EMULATOR running commercial roms. :)

It makes me sad, because controls are borked on Citra for Windows users since I last checked. Why hasn't fixing them been top priority?

Why would you need controls when nothing's playable yet?
Homebrew has been playable for a time, last I heard Blargsnes runs fairly well.

But it's all for developing, hard to debug things with just the 3DS. Working controls make it easier to not have to swap things on and off the sdcard

even homebrew community hates ps vita huh. there are a lot of discussion about 3ds firmwares, and now an emulator... must be good for sony because they blamed piracy all the time for psp.
