I honestly don't believe that the GW team was intentionally limiting their market by sitting on top of a new exploit and refusing to release it. I say that they were working on the new exploit but weren't ready to release it yet, and were most likely waiting for the N3DS to come out as well, knowing that it would be blocked by Nintendo as soon as they were made aware of it.

Believe what you want, I prefer to look at the facts. 2 years passed between support up to v4.5 then poof - oh yeah, we are working on v9.2? what happened between v4.5-v9.2? why did they release that so close after Sky released their card? it's all about feeling your market.

Being able to hold all games in a single card and quickly select them in a menu is still better than having to swap microSDs, though.

That's just it though, isn't it? how many games can you hold on a card? A 32gb card can hold between about 15 games. a 64gb card - 31 games(128 - 63 games).
how many games do you play in parallel? 10 games? 15 games?
how many games do you currently have installed on your computer?

the main problem with Sky 3DS was not how many games you could put on it in at once, but how many games total.

Thing is, some are dumb asses who, with this announcement will rush out and buy the new batch and then get butt hurt once it gets blocked. People are not patient enough these days, which I just like to sit back and watch the fireworks.

Well when you're set with an exploitable firmware and a comfy home, even i'd just sit back.

The same applies for Gateway though. Currently GW has been blocked once (maybe even twice) and Sky3DS hasn't been blocked but doesn't have as many features. It's all down to personal preference.

I think your math is off. I have around 30 games in my 32 GB card.

Well they blocked it already if Im not wrong. Regarding Emunand its been a day dude calm your tits - similar thing had happened before and they managed to fix it. Theres not a single FW version that does not have emunand support. Lets say 9.3 doesnt get emunand support, so what? It does not mean 9.4 wont get it or 9.5 for that matter... Thats the thing about GW, theyre not cheap fuck amateurs who want to cash in their money ass soon as possible. They care about their customers. I mean FFS a 3 year old GW card still works to date. (will work). The thing is Sky3ds WILL get blocked sooner or later and you wasted a $100 for nothing! At least you know that when you buy a GW youve invested in something thats gonna be future proof for a long time.

I removed the emuNAND part from my message because it isn't a valid point even before you commented.
A few questions though
why/how are you so sure that Sky 3DS will be blocked?
why/how are you so sure that Gateway wont be?

I've been in this scene for a long time, the fact that i haven't commented is irrelevant.
I even remember that Gateway once cost over 100$ when it was still new, and bricking consoles.
Sky 3DS is new, it's still primitive, but don't count it out so fast.

They said lower firmwares are gonna be exploitable, just sit and relax. If you have a J N3DS dont update it. If you have the money and dont have the patience buy yourself a Sky3ds and wair for GW to release its update then sell the Sky3ds and buy yourself a proper card.

Thing is, some are dumb asses who, with this announcement will rush out and buy the new batch and then get butt hurt once it gets blocked. People are not patient enough these days, which I just like to sit back and watch the fireworks.

As sad as it sounds its true, I already have my 32 mcsd card and a 16 gb SD card. Just patiently sitting and waiting for the update to be released.

as a retailer i'd be pretty pissed with Sky, youve bought it at a high price, but now becomes useless because no consumer wants to buy the product, yet you need to buy new BlueButton card to sell. which they probably have to sell at a higher price to make up for the red button losses

EVERY card gets blocked its just a matter of time and Sky3ds is no exception.
GW IS BLOCKED if you havent read the news, 9.3 is not exploitable. The thing about GW is that it supports emunand so its more or less future proof.

I don't, but I do have a few years of experience in how the market works and I know that most coincidences are anything but.

I think your math is off. I have around 30 games in my 32 GB card.

but you're avoiding my real question... how many concurrent games do you play?

imagine resellers with a backlog of red button cards.

you don't seem to understand what i asked, i'll ask again, what happens when emuNAND no longer works on a 3DS.
Gateway wasn't that big an issue for Nintendo when they were stuck on v4.5 but now that they'll work for up to v9.2 they should be getting more attention.

i dont see any point in arguing, fact is gateway will be compatible with every console unless the user decided to update in the past few days, anyone wanting all the extra features gateway brings will just wait....its not like the hunt for 4.x consoles, basically any brand new console you can buy will be gateway compatible......for impatient people they will buy sky 3ds and jump into every update head first.....who knows maybe sky3ds will be blocked and then....well thats it, i highly doubt sky3ds have considered making their blue button card updatable either.........atm i think there is very little reason to look at sky3ds.....but thats my personal opinion, and im sure some will think "nah 9.3 compatibility is worth everything to me"....to each their own, but i wish sky3ds owners would just accept their decision and not be crying about "but i want eshop roms, and i want custom themes, i want rom hacks etc.....that's not what you signed up for with sky3ds, i doubt that will ever change....accept what you buy its positives and its negatives

As soon as Gateway announced Devmenu & CIA support I knew this was the future...
As for Sky3ds I'll be honest, you guys act as catalyst for us to achieve even more faster gateway releases. I hope you are long enough to help us squeeze more juice from gateway in future oh and you're clones as well
Gateway still is the best!
