ABCDFV posted this on another thread.

Well you could format emuNAND, create a new emuNAND, and update it to like 8.2 using a ROM which includes that firmware update. You wouldn't be able to play anything online or use any online features, but at least you'd have access to playing all 3DS ROMs released thus far. Then you'd just need to wait until Gateway updates their loader to work with 9.3.

So I formatted my EmuNAND nad everything is back to 4.5. However when I re-run gateway and attempt to play Super Smash Bros, it's not asking me to update my firmware... instead I can only play the game and get a black screen :/

hold "UP"(on the d-pad) when booting into gateway mode to activate the super secret "let me update emunand via cart" option, just be 100% sure you have emunand set up, although im pretty sure the update mode only work with emunand....just to be safe :P

There are reports of PAL Aus N3DS coming with 9.2 firmware and that means it's taken roughly 4 weeks or so to go from 9.0 > 9.2 if you want a gateway on a N3DS I would buy one right away.. 9.3 out the factory will be within the next 30th days or so I reckon.

Edit: owner got it wrong, panic over for now

how long did it take to get your n3ds from 365games ? my order has been stuck at (being picked) for 3 days !!

So is anyone else kinda unhappy with how SkyDS is the cause of all this =/? What were they thinking by releasing a cart that works on 9.0 when the N3DS wasn't even out?

Man want a N3DS, but can't justify the cost of the AUS version. By the time Nintendo puts out an exclusive game I really want to play GW might work anyways so I won't fret to much over this. I have my 4.5 3DS and might sell that to upgrade to an XL as that would cost much less than upgrading to the N3DS. Hopefully what GW says regarding them having a solution for consoles under 9.0 FW, unless I am mistaken in thinking that would allow me to buy an 3DS XL and use GW later on.

tbh the cost of importing a N3ds isnt all that much more than a brand new standard XL......but idk maybe if you where looking at a second hand XL that may be a bit fair cheaper than a N3DS.....tbh do what you want i doubt there will be too many N3DS exclusives

so much time "picking" eh.......im just imagining some guy sitting there like "eeny meeny miney mo" with the whole stock until he narrows it down to the one he will pick up for you
Takes 5 days for an old man to kick it from one side of the warehouse to the other.
