While everyone is waiting i got some couple of questions for the experts.
I used to have an r4 card for the old ds so i kind of know how this work...

My questions are:
How big are 3ds games in size compared to nds games, is a micro sd card of 16gb enough?

I am thinking of buying a gateway card for my 2ds. Would you guys recommend me to buy the stuff now or rather wait?
Do you guys think its possible that in the waiting time a new super high tech card is released from another company that beats gateway in the nuts?

3DS games go as far as 8GB (although the reported size for the biggest games are 4GB).

As it stands the largest games go up to 4gb - though supposedly they futureproofed for games up to 8gb in size.
Suffice it to say, 16gb would fit the largest games on it. And as not many games go up to the max size you'll be fine.

1. 16GB works, though I recommend maybe just a bit bigger. 3DS ROMs can go up to 4 GB, so if you want to store many of them on one card, you'll need a bigger one.
2. Buy the 2DS now and update it to 9.2 before Nintendo rolls out the update to 9.3 and potentially block out the Gateway
3. I would never rule anything out, but for all this time, Gateway has proven themselves to be the absolute king of 3DS flashcards. They've done everything so very right, so I doubt some other team would suddenly come and destroy Gateway.

well by my experience all my backups are atLEAST around 1gb~3gb in size untrimmed. some are bigger.
No. given Gateway's track record and the whole Sky3DS nonsense, gateway is god. HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED!

Thanks guys for the great advice. I already got a 2ds laying here with 9.20e
Im going to order a gateway card tomorrow right away!

32 gb is more than enough for the AAA titles and you still have some room left. Personally I have a 16 gb SD card for .cia files and a 32 gb one form backups.

just recieved my AU N3dsLL from playasia , Fw 9.0.0-20 ,it came a day early
hmm should i update it? im scurred

They don't have to destroy, just compete. If all teams come out with a similar update than it becomes a price war and personal preference.

we are all sitting ducks on the same boat xD

if you want to transfer your nnid, thenn you have to do it

i don't think i am too worried not even sure what is linked to it, everything i have is on GW
just wondering about game updates , worst case scenario if Gw has no emunand, wonder what that means if i want to install a game update , AU console ,will need EU rom and EU game update, or can you use american rom american update? GW did not show if update or esop work either, but cant see why they wouldn't i assuming i will be able to install and use updates with devmen

guys do you think i can use a 8gb card? :| i don't have money for both gw and a big sd card. i'm not interested into have lot of game on it, one game per time is good.
