I just got a 2DS which I had ordered on Black Friday, the cool see-through blue one. Anyway, since it's a brand new system, I thought I'd try playing around with Cubic Ninja a bit since I can always reformat the NAND if I do anything wrong.

I actually did format it a couple times to verify this behavior.

Let's say I open System Settings to set up my Internet connection and I open Cubic Ninja but I don't actually do anything with the QR code functions.

If I go back to the home menu and open up play log, it shows two titles, system settings and Cubic Ninja. As expected. As a sanity check, I close and reopen play log, so I get a third title - play log (LOL)

Now, if I actually launch NinjHax and run a program like ftPONY, then return to the home menu, play log says "4 titles played". But if you try to view them, there's still only 3 in that list. I'm assuming the fourth is the homebrew launcher, which won't *actually* show up since it's not a real app but rather being launched from inside a game.

Can anyone else verify this? I just don't think there would be any way to get rid of it, and it would make it screamingly obvious that you were hacking your 3DS (voided warranty perhaps?), besides just having some play time in Cubic Ninja. Hey, Cubic Ninja is an actual game, nothing unusual about having several hours devoted to it...

If you go into daily records, it shows cubic ninja, then Internet browser. And the browser is open right after cubic ninja everytime. Seems like it tries to use the browser everytime you use cubic ninja, but my wifi is turn off on my 3ds, so I have 1-6 seconds of play time in the daily log

It doesn't show the browser at all for me. But hmm, I also hadn't set up the browser yet. I could try doing another system format and initializing the save data (you know, choosing a search engine and all that)

Maybe the 2DS is different because it's, well, a 2DS. I know the system settings app is actually different with changed icons and stuff.

My standard 3DS just reads two titles, Cubic Ninja and Internet Browser. It doesn't list 3 and then only show 2, its lists 2 and only shows 2.

Ah yeah, I did another system format and this time I set up the Internet browser before running the exploit

Now it shows Cubic Ninja +1 and Internet Browser +1 times for every time I use the exploit

Interesting. I wonder why it appears as Internet browser of all things. Maybe that's something smea programmed in to be stealthy?

I know what you mean OuahOuah, I was using Twilight Hack before the HBC as well. But that's an epic long RPG so it didn't really seem out of place to have lots of time spent on it.
I actually formatted my very first 3DS (bought at launch date) because at the time, the AceKard 2i still worked on it so I literally had "AceKard 2i" in my play log and I thought "oops, that's not good", the DSi never recorded that stuff LOL

It registers +1 CN and +1 IB also for my 9.2 2DS and XL.
My 4.5 XL and OG, however, just show +1 for CN only.
All systems tested on sysnand.

Maybe, because the latter, 3dsi? I think that works as a pluralization, are on a different firmware and don't register the browser in the logs. Try using just the browser and see if it comes up.

Your suspicion was right. Once I initialized the browser, all of the ninjhax uses showed up even when the icon wasn't there. lol

Cubic Ninja and Browser made sens. On Qr scanning exploit it connects to the internet to download required files. so MAYBE (speculation) it uses some browser's module/functions to allow internet connection in first time.
Remember people having trouble setting up ninjhax? sometime they ended up launching browser after scanning the qr code :P

But this is also everytime after the installing ninjhax

suspicious, indeed. :P
Lol, just noticed. first time I used the browser was on novembre 20th. Same time ninjhax was released.
number of uses, exactly the SAME from november 20th as Cubic Ninja.
definitely related indeed :)

There's also the fact that it can randomly boot to the Internet Browser and be completely useless, so it definitely has something to do with the browser.
