Don't CIAs (which act like eShop games) get installed to the SD card anyway? So why are people worried about them messing up sysNand? Only system apps are on there. Anything the the Eshop installs and likely the CIA installer as well only installs to the SD card regardless if you are using emunand or not.

well i installed a US theme that had been, or at least attempted to be patched for region free, it installed fine, but when i went to the theme screen the 3ds just froze, so i tried again and the same, so i just went into dev menu and uninstalled it, and it still just kept freezing even though it was deleted, i just restored my emunand backup......now i think its probably fine in most situations as long as people get the cia files from trusted sources, but it does go to show that its not 100% safe

Jeez, and the say non native speakers type confusing sometimes, but you are from the rainy island:P

MT is a simple clone of the Gateway, no reason to buy it over the Gateway.

Other than that there is the sky3ds, which is just a card that plays roms (on every FW currently) but has a game limit of 10 titles for it's entire life. Once 10 games are on it, you are done, have to buy a second one once you want to play new games

Erm, surely you can delete the games and put others back on it lol, and im sure hackers can do it easy.. 10 game limit hahaha are you joking or what!?

nope sky3ds has a 10 games on the card and its locked.

So theme installation seems buggy then? What I'm interested in, when you install a CIA, does it only work in Gateway mode even if it's install on the SD? I'm not exactly sure how it works.

still the same discussion for sky3ds? i would keep the option to lift the 10 games limit per keyfile or something like that IF the sales drop as precaution against other competitors.

Any games on the N3DS actually make use of the new shoulder buttons/weird nipple from laptops 15 years ago? I know smash uses the nipple but I'm not sure if anything actually makes use of the shoulder buttons. Also anybody know what the battery life is like on these? I assume It's more draining with more inputs/improved 3D but could b wrong.

Yeah you need to be in gatewat mode, but it will still appear on sysnand homemenu. Once you've installed the .cia from the SD you can delete it from there and itll still be playable, same for DLC. Atleast it does for me.

its not so much buggy theme installation....it was just a bad hacky job on the theme.....as long as you stick to valid content is should be fine, but themes are probably the riskiest as they are used by the system menu itself,

and nope all content installed in gateway mode only work in gateway mode......the don't even work in classic mode, except themes, but it only keeps the one enabled as its cached.....if you go to the theme screen in classic mode it will also get removed

installing themes is for idiots, who gives a fuck except pretentious morons. I just want the glorious homebrew apps, savedata filer, ability to play whatever roms I want (and retail cartridges too of course).

Yeah I'm fine without custom themes, but what do you mean ability to play retail cartridges? Do they not play in GW mode?
