One of the two good things about MT is it has a blue card that works on 9.2 but GW has red card that will work on 9.2

What is the blue card good for except the installation of the gateway exploit? What else can it be used for?

I read though that every time you play a DS game the gateway mod resets and you have to use the blue card to reset it again. So maybe using the 3DS for DS games isn't the best idea if you want to use a gateway

If you do not own a DS, it will be your only option.

But true, you need to reinstall the GW exploit if you do.

well since you just used the blue card to launch a game, its still in the 3ds so it's only a minor issue of running the installer again.

I bought a pre-owned DSi for only $15.55 for the blue card when I got my Gateway.
It's not a bad investment so I won't have to bother with reinstalling the exploit for my 3ds xl.
And my brothers can use the dsi too to keep them at bay. :) So it's pretty useful.

Hey guys, i have about 400$ pocket money im able to spend.
my 3ds was stolen about 2 months ago, and i'm kind of tired of waiting for N3DS to come out (i want to play pokemon, smash, etc).
Should I buy a japanese n3ds and a gateway3ds so i can play all the singleplayer games i want? ( i don't really care for online or multiplayer)
if so, should i buy them right away?
i was thinking of having 2 seperate n3ds's, one japanese for hacking and one NA for connecting to my friends. will gateway3ds work on both? and when will this update be coming, any estimates?

Getting an ETA on the gateway release will be as easy as platting piss :D I'd go with a Pal N3DS if I had to as it's all in English.

Yea, unless you can get a Jap N3DS for significantly cheaper, you may aswell get an Australian one that will be in english.
No reason handicapping yourself with a Japanese device.

while that was true for 4.x users as the exploit used the ds profile, there's is no reason to think that it would still apply for this update

I'm pretty convinced that gateway is going to wait for 9.3 to come out and patch ssspwn and maybe sky 3ds so they can have exclusivity on 9.3, maybe even wait for the us n3ds tho I doubt they wait that long
Gateway has already announced the exploit. As a result I have little doubt that Nintendo will wait to release the NA n3ds until they've had a chance to patch the exploit. So I strongly doubt that Gateway will wait until after the NA n3ds release (waiting games with Nintendo will last a long time). If they were planning to do that they wouldn't have announced the exploit until at least the NA n3ds release date was announced. Unfortunately, NA n3ds will be all patched. Too bad, gateway could have reached a bigger hardware market if they just kept quiet a little longer. It was sky3ds that pushed them to spill the beans.

Not necessarily, they also needed to warn costumers to update to 9.2 and stay there. And so, They had no choice but to show themselves to Nintendo.
But yes, Sky3DS could have had influence.
