how hard is it to understand that i neither make nor provide emulators, only a way to run software on your console. that includes emulators, so what ? i guess google is encouraging piracy by letting people write software for android right ? i mean that lets people write emulators for phones so obviously they're either pro-piracy or hypocrites.

what about microsoft ? windows can run a bunch of emulators. oh and let's not forget apple, everyone working on any linux distribution, the people behind the raspberry pi, um probably sony since they make phones...

if you're going to try and bring me down at least have actual arguments.
I was referring to this article called 'I don't want to be a part of piracy':

People really should decide for themselves whatever this is a hypocrisy or not.

I wonder whats bought on this trend of naming NAND images ran from the SD card as "custom firmware?"

I would class custom firmware on the 3DS as an actual reflashed physical NAND, which boots directly into your modified system menu, without booting first, and then requiring button presses to launch the hack.

But hey, that's just my opinion.

Yeah its kinda weird but maybe that's to diferentiate from Gateway's emunand.

A real CFW probably won't ever be possible because the files are verified during boot.

The PS3 also had a chain of trust, while loading the system menu. That didn't stop the CFW makers, did it?

Wonder if I read this correctly. My english still improving slowly. Smealum saying if we own the game and want to play on the go it is ok? So this mean if we own multiple actual game and want to play on the go it is ok? I don't understand why he say one thing and do another. My english no good.

He means that for example, there's nothing wrong when you you play a Super Metroid rom on your 3DS if you have a real Super Metroid cartridge.

So there's nothing wrong with playing Super Mario 3D land rom on 3ds if we have real Super Mario 3D land cartridge?

I don't get why he saying all this things. Why not he release his 4.x cfw with rom loader? Since he says its fine if we own the actual game.

Maybe because there was never a ROM loader and he just didn't bother releasing a CFW that will be called useless by you guys?

It is custom, since there are patches applied to it.
GW works because a CFW is ran so it could be recognized.

But he say before he no want to release his 4.x stuff because he no want to help piracy? If play rom when you own actual real game is ok, he not helping piracy yes?

I remember years ago when rom sites used to say "you must delete these roms within 24 hours if you don't own the original game/cartridge", was even funnier than Winrar asking for purchase:P.

If this is the case why he release ninjhax since people using snes and gbc rom pirating?

He didn't make those emulators.

Another, rather subjective point is downloading ROMs of really old games like that is OK because it's causing harm. Obviously the whole piracy/anti-piracy was just morals from the start. No one really cares if it's legal or not.

Same reason as shops have glass over the expensive stuff but not the.cheap stuff, userland is the lesser of 2 evils, just because someone *might* rob some penny sweets doesn't mean you should just let them have a free for all in your shop
