You probably heard about Cyber Gadget Save Editor 2 already, they have a cheat database for a lot of games.

Is it possible to extract those cheat codes to hex edit the save extracted using savedatafiler?

FYI, I don't know anything about CyberGadget cheat code format.

What about Powersave 3DS cheat code?

I've been looking around how to hex edit a lot of my game, but the data for them are not available. I'm not very familiar with hex editing either.

Not quite. The cheat codes that are supplied by Cybergadget are stored on their servers and the saves are edited there if you choose to use a cheat code from their list. However, most codes are extremely trivial after all and you will have no problems finding stuff like money etc. with a bit of digging in the data using a hex editor. No need for the Save Editor after all, since Savedatafiler handles the decryption and encryption. Try it, it's not hard, there have been several tutorials for this around here already.

What you could exclusively do with Cybergadget is to transfer your retail gamesave to CIA and vice-versa as long as it is supported by Cybergadget and SDF. Which is pretty cool if you want to switch. Requires a bit of extra effort tho.

yeah the problem with cyber gadget is all their codes are for Japanese games anyway(even if we did have some way of getting them all from them), so while some might work the majority would probably only work on a Japanese copy of the game, as its been said though with decrypted saves it will be fairly simple to figure out the save formats, all we need now is some sort of collective tool to store all the offsets on so people can contribute their findings into a one tool fits all solution........although i will say the 3ds scene seems pretty slow picking stuff up

Ok, so getting the code from their server sound hopeless. How about making Cybergadget work without having the dongle? I mean, transfering retail gamesave to CIA sound pretty useful. Plus, I think their name has became well known quick, maybe they might release Cybergadget to the west too.

I'll try to play around with hex editing some more, though some tutorial are for the latest games while old and not so popular title are neglected.
I wonder how long will GW released the promised real time cheat, I might have been too spoiled with dstwo from the DS generation.

just make your save, extract it, go play again, change the bit you want to edit i.e collect more coins etc, save again and dump it, compare the 2 files and look for anything obvious, if you see something you think might be the coins etc, try copying your old value over the new one and see if your coins go down in game....if not keep looking, its worth noting that some games will haves checksums that prevent save editing unless you figure out how the checksum is being calculated and fix it after editing, but i think only a few would be bothered

The Simple cheats on CG are just IDs that are sent to the server.. pretty much exactly like Powersave. If you want that instead of hex editing the stuff yourself, well, theres no easy way to do that with SDF, heh.

Since you can store an unencrypted save on your computer using Cyber Gadget, you could theoretically hex edit it, but as other have already said, you could not extract the cheats, other than, as gamesquest1 said, comparing the two save files (before and after) to see what's different, and making your own codes. In other words, it's not worth it.

Good luck ever getting Powersaves to do ANY of that, though. Backup saves from Powersaves are stored encrypted, so unless your 3DS is hacked or you have access to Cyber Gadget (and the games have to be Japanese to work with Cyber Gadget), you can't fully decrypt your save (at least, that's how it is for Pokemon. I assume it's the same for most, if not all, 3DS games).

Also, if you're "not very familiar with hex editing", you probably won't get far. It's not as simple as editing a text file (well, okay, if you know what you're doing, it pretty much is, but that's not the case here).

I don't normally give this advice, but in this case, I suggest you give up. Your efforts are pretty much entirely fruitless, especially when you aren't familiar with things such as hex editing. Someone that knows what they're doing will get Action Replay codes out there eventually (hint: Datel), and then we'll all have access to them (including on flash cards).

Ok, this have been enlightening. As helpless as I am, I probably have to wait for someone mention by TCJJ or the community to bring sth to this table. And my only option now is to learn hex editing properly.

Though I think we are closing to making cheat possible now with SDF, I'm sure a lot of people are as excited as I am.

Wow, I didn't know that... sucks big time. Powersaves also doesn't even offer advanced mode as in hex editing the files, does it?
Really hope we'll soon have a better alternative than it for EU/US games.

Give it a year, and we probably will. Alternatively, the Gateway will support the newer 3DS firmware soon, so that's always an option.

But no, Powersaves doesn't support anything beyond the cheat codes it offers (save file editing, server-side) and.... Powersaves, the titular feature (which barely anyone uses, ironically). You can't even use something like Cheat Engine to modify the codes, since everything is processed server-side.
