Gateway supports 9.x, and at least a few people have privately updated their CFW to support latest firmware, but from what any of them have said about it the chances of a release is very slim to none :P

The guys who are on the inside and have direct access to yellows8's work have it.

Please pardon my confusion, but after waiting and reading a few days I want to make sure i am correct. Borrowing a friend's ds card to install the CFW will do me no good since I will need the cart every time i restart, correct?

Please say I am wrong.

Just do not play any ds games and you will be golden.

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to convert some of the BBB SDK CSUs and CIAs to valid CIAs. Can anyone help?

When trying to boot them, the "Nintendo 3DS" logo will appear, then it will give me "An error has occured"

Sounds like you have the permissions set up incorrectly, or you don't have it set as an SD application. Don't just re-inject the header using piratesephiroth's tool, you need to manually set up the rsf to match the original rom's data.
