Emulation So... what is a .rgn?

I've been working on a skin for VBA recently, and I've been working off of a skin pack that came with a .bmp (image, duh), .ini (settings, duh), and .rgn (this probably deserves a "duh" too, but I dunno what it is, so... :/)
I was gonna just not tamper with it, but it apparently tells VBA what parts should be transparent, and in result, I got this:

So... yeah. Anyone know some software to edit this? I tried notepad++, but I got this for text format:

Sounds like it might be a GDI region, I'll go look into it quickly...
It's not a text file, any website you upload it to as text will destroy the file.

Okay... but then I get this when I load the BMP:

I think you hit browse, pick (right click on the transparent color), then create.

That's what I did, though. That message shows up after pressing both "pick" and "create"

Region creator and they even have a GUI you can get for it: http://gunner6666.tripod.com/vbaskinscom/

At the least, the region creator link seems to be alive. Also, lrn2google. I didn't do any magic here. Just Google and some search result clicking.

It's all about the key words. One, you searched "region selector". You want region creator. Otherwise, when finding the file type or the region creator, you needed to specifically mention VBA for relevant results. Otherwise region selector could apply to potentially hundreds, if not thousands of pieces of software or otherwise out there. For the .rgn itself, that literally was just ".rgn file visualboy advance", and boom, relevant results galore.

I'm being such an idiot, I know this, and I'm sorry. But what do I do now?
