Getting DLC for games should work fine with Gateway 3DS cards, right?

So if I buy DLC for a game, then load the ROM for that game using a Gateway 3DS, I should have the DLC, right?

I dont think that DLC is supported by Gateway. Maybe in future, but not now.

I'm not sure, but I think that region limitations may apply (example: you can't use Final Fantasy Theatrhythm DLC's from a European eShop on a USA ROM dump), other than that, it should work (european eShop and european ROM dump, for example).

Pox OP is talking about properly buying DLCs to use with the ROM dumps, these should work.

Got Fantasy Life DLC and playing it with europe dump. Works great so far. I've also been able to download Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate downloadable content.

exception is phoenix wright vs professor layton (EUR). I played it on USA 3DS, but still can download the DLCs. most probably because the DLCs are independent from eshop

So pretty much, as long as I buy the DLC from the same eShop region as the ROM's region, they should work?

For example, if I wanted DLC for Fire Emblem, I could go to USA eShop, buy the DLC, then load the USA version of the Fire Emblem ROM, and it should work?

Also, to buy DLC from the eShop, what do I have to do?
I'm guessing:
- have latest emuNAND downloaded to SD card
- Nintendo DS Profile Setting
- Boot Gateway Mode (or maybe Classic Mode?)
- go to eShop from there
- buy DLC

Is that right?

Yeah, that works fine for patches and free stuff, anyway, only difference for DLC should be that you would have to have pay.

For now anyway, it could always change in a future update, so get your stuff sooner rather than later.
