Hacking Help! Gateway 3DS Works for EVERY game except for SSB

Hi guys, I just got a gateway this week and installed everything correctly (hopefully), on a 4.1 firmware, and every single other game works, EXCEPT FOR SMASH BROS! I have an 8 GB (big) SD card, a 16 GB in the blue card, and a 64 GB in the red card. I've tried any and all versions of the game, including backing up my own physical copy and it still goes to the black screen. I'd appreciate any help to get it going, thanks in advance

You need to be on at least emunand 8.1 for it to work

how do I update it? when I go into settings after booting into gateway mode, it still says version 4.1.0-8U

Go into the Gateway menu and format your emunand, after that, update your firmware while you're on emunand

edit: be sure to backup your saves

Dont forget to backup your nand for future use in case something ever goes wrong

Lastly, is it safe to upgrade SSB via the eshop?

SSB is V8.x game, need at least V8.x system
you can install gateway latest OMEGA 2.4b, and emunand 9.x ,
then you can play SSB surely
