Options in console games. Why not?

A giant monitor isn't always ideal - you want a monitor that covers your natural field of view. The moment you have to move your head to survey the area fully, you're doing it wrong.

Console gamers play on TVs which are located far away from the viewer. So a low FOV, the default in console FPS, make sense.

"Far away" is not a scientific description of distance. That, and there's thousands of gamers who play video games on monitors, not televisions. Hell, some console gamers don't even play in their living room and instead opt for a desk and some PC gamers choose to connect their computers to TV's. The platform in question in no way defines the gaming setup used. That's all besides the point though as different gamers have different preferred in-game FOV and it's all a matter of personal preference.
