So, I'm thinking of buying a 4.5 3DS so I can get a Gateway, but one of the big things I'm going to want to play is Pokemon. Looking in the compatibility guide in the Noob Paradise thread, it says Pokemon is a problematic game. But that thread looks like it might be outdated, because it's talking about Gateway 2.0. Does Pokemon have full functionality on Gateway 2.3, including online compatibility?

That's one way to greet someone newish (and get them to return to GBAtemp.)

Don't be so harsh. It's not your place to tell him that, especially in such a way. kthx.

it is exactly his place to tell him that
the stickies are there to be read and used and telling people to do that is absolutely right, also he was not being rude in any way about it
just because someone doesn`t suggercoat a post in a thousand "please" and "thanks" and heart symbols, doesn`t mean he is talking rude or harshly, it was just a short and clear statement
"next time ask in the noob paradise thread." clean, simple, direct

Think about it from the newcomer's end. Being that direct is like a command. I think putting "please" or "thank you" would be entirely appropriate, and anything less would be almost as an order. Do you think that really would make him want to come back to this site? Use your head, boss.

There's no reason to be that direct.
I don't understand why people have to be rude, rather than being polite.

direct =//= rude
but let`s just say, you have your opinion and I have mine, there is no point of making a big argument about it now :-)

Gotcha. Agree to disagree ;)
Kudos on being the big man here. If I were grumpy, I'd be far too prideful to say what you just said. Good deal, dude B) Have a good one!
