Stop being delusional and say "Well you don't buy a Wii U for those games."
But that's the whole damn point. People DON'T buy Nintendo consoles to play these games. You didn't buy a GameCube hoping you'd get Grand Theft Auto, and you didn't buy a Wii to play whatever Call of Duty or Splinter Cell it got. Since the dawn of time, best selling software on Nintendo's consoles has been Nintendo's own. There's a reason why Nintendo projects this cutesy, family friendly image, and it clashes with games like Call of Duty. It's not their thing, and those games aren't what the bigger part of Wii U owners want. But that's just too much to digest, I guess, since we're having this conversation in a Bayonetta 2 thread. Because low sales figures and Nintendo's mistakes are just too much fun to not talk endlessly about.
Can't wait for the game to sell like shit
That's the spirit, Mr. PSN - XBL - Steam ID signature. Where's your NNID? We're all aware that Wii U isn't doing too well, but do we really need to obsess about it and point it out every chance we get? I mean, this is exactly what bothers me. You have people bitching and moaning, spewing sales figures left and right, and it's an infection that is clearly spreading. You visit Polygon's website and this is the type of crap you get. Instead of stories about games themselves, you get
stories about how poorly Mario Kart 8 is selling. Enough already.
Then they'll praise Nintendo for bringing us such a great game while being the noble money martyrs who took a loss just to bring us the endearing cultural landmark that is Bayonetta.
You obviously don't care about the franchise, so what are you here for, anyway? Besides being a downer like most of the harsh realists here, who forgot how fun it was to play games instead of being a self-made market analyst. Give me a break. And yes, even if Bayonetta 2 sells poorly, I will praise Nintendo for paying up, because that's exactly what they did, and without them we wouldn't have a sequel. I liked the first game, even though it did feel like a Tecmo production, with a whole lot of ass in face moments (girls can dig it too), and by the look of it, Bayonetta 2 will bring it hard.
Lastly, I'm done with sales figures and speculations, and I'm most definitely done with anyone with internet access trying to preach market dynamics with their third grade math. Over and out.
