Hi guys,

my WiiU has a few strange things it does when I try to start a USBLoader in vWii mode. So, I got a few questions:

USBLoader GX gets stuck at "initializing USB". I checked "don't mount on startup" in the settings, the program behaves normally, but how can I manually mount the disk later?
When I'm in the hard drive options and click "Game / Instal. partitions - not initialized" it hangs on the menu and I have to do a hard reset.

Cfg-loader only works if I unplug the disk first and then after the error message that it isn't present, plug it in again.
How do I configure Cfg loader so that it does not mount automatically at startup? It's pretty exhausting each time removing the drive if I want to change the game.

WiiFlow works fine, but, seems to me, has very poor compatibility. Standard games such as "Wario Land: Shake It" do not work.

How can it be that WiiFlow starts normally, mount has no problems and the other two freeze upon starting?
The hard drive is a 1Tb USB 3.0, formatted to FAT32, it may be the USB 3.0?

I have the HBC and the loader installed properly.

Cheers,

Seismo

Recently I had similar problems.. And from my expirience i will say this:

1. Read CAREFULLY the manual
2. Always use Y USB cable (in case you don't use external power supply for the hdd)
3. Be really sure that you are using UPPER USB PORT for data connector (be aware that on Y cable, data connector i the one that have 2 wires)
4. points 1-3 are completed, try to change in USB loader configuration Loader IOS: 249 - 250 - 251
5. Not sure for USB3.0 ?? Maybe someone can confirm success with USB 3.0. If not - change with cradle/drive which have USB 2.0 interface.

I've tried my USB 3.0 2TB drive but it wouldn't load so I'm going to get a Y cable sometime soon and see if that does anything. Though in theory USB3.0 works fine with backwards compatibility.

hi guys!

so i tried everything, from changing the starting ios (249-250-251) in meta.xml to trying "device = ask" and "partition=ask" in the config file (those where the only to options in the manual which sounded like they would stop cfgloader from automounting).. I always use a Y-cable so that can't be it!

any other ideas?

having to stand up every time I want to play a different game is getting severely on my nerves!

thanks!

Ok so this was actually very hard to find for me, I finally got it from an italian forum...
Here's the link for anybody looking for it!

USB Loader GX R1218
http://www.mediafire.com/download/ovd9f17z2cbi7u1/USB Loader GX 3.0 r1218.rar

Didn't get around to trying it yet, will do so after breakfast!

most recent version: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4chkwkwrwtigh4x/R1231_IOS222-249-250.7z
changelog: http://gbatemp.net/entry/usbloadergx-changelog.10502/

next time just check Cyan `s signature to see the most recent version, you don`t have to search through some italian forums

Gortesk: I tried all the recent revisions but the old 1218 was the only one working!

alright, but next time, you can still use the link in Cyan`s signature to the changelog page and there you will see this link http://www.mediafire.com/folder/t2x95zd9rz3rc/USBLoaderGX
this contains all revisions, so like I said, still no need to search through some italian forums ^^

This is the Cyan's note over USB loader changes after R1218, so you can see what is actually behind your problem :

In r1218, the loader used the official IOS58 to boot and detect the hard drive.
since 1219, it's back to using cIOS instead of IOS58 (for compatibility and launch time reason), like all previous version before 1218.

Maybe your drive is not compatible with cIOS, and you could force the loader to use IOS58 again.
Open meta.xml in a text editor, remove the two lines marked as "remove to enable arguments"
replace the value of --ios=250 to --ios=58
save and launch the loader.

You can also verify that the loader is using the correct IOS (Settings > Loader settings > Loader's IOS : 58, 249, 250 or 251)

Glad that it worked.. BTW what is your Drive/Cradle model ? Maybe we should create a Sticky with table Disk/Cradle model - tested working version of USB Loader ?

My cradle is a "Medion Drive-N-Go 1Tb", don't know what kind of drive is inside!
I believe a thread about drive compatibility already exists.
Thanks again for the help :)
