Hi.
I bought the gateway 3ds, and did everything as the guide said. (backed up my system too).
The last step was to transfer the game. I used Win32DiskImager as the guide showed, this is a very simple process and i don't believe i did something wrong, but after the writing is done, i can't access the card anymore (micro sd 8gb), it asks me to format it first, and of course, it dont show anything on the 3ds either.
What am i doing wrong?

Also, i had a few E-shop games that are gone now. I know i can't access them yet until ill split my system (haven't done it yet as i was scared of losing the e-shop game saves), but i didn't knew they will disappear.
I just thought they will be blocked but i will still be able to see them. Are they gone forever or system split up will bring them back?

Thanks!

You don't need to use disk imager anymore. Format your card to exFAT and just drag and drop the roms to it. What you did was burn a single game ROM to the card, which is why windows wanted to format it.

If you picked set up emunand...yeah your eshop games are gone, it does warn you to backup your SD card before picking format emunand, you won't be able to get them back until gateway fixes 8.0 emunand support

As for the SD card issue, as the person above said, win32diskimager is no longer used, just format to fat32 or exfat and drag the .3ds/.3dz files on to the SD. Card

And finally press select when you put the card in the 3DS, and select the game....this step is also missing from the old setup guide and so many people are tripped up by it

Nope, they're gone too. Always make backups. You should make a NAND backup right now and put it somewhere safe as well.

I already did a NAND backup... i did the backup as a first step, i used the complete gateway guide on youtube (i did the backup before the e-shop games gone).

Yes i backed up the SD card (the one that comes with the 3DS, where all the root program is).
So i just need to over-write it? (will i need to set-up gateway again? ><)

Gateway only needs to be *set up* again (run installer from blue card) when you run a DS game or flashcart. Gateway needs to be *enabled* (by going to settings - profile - ds profile) after you shut down or restart your 3DS.

depending on how much space was free on the SD card you might not have space to copy everything on....which would be an issue, this is because emunand take up 1GB of the original storage capacity in a separate somewhat hidden partition so a 4gb card will only show up as 3GB once emunand is up and running

but yeah assuming there was enough space on the card just copying the files back onto the SD card will restore your eshop games and your emunand will be safe in its separate partition

Did you take the backup off the SDCard before formatting emunand? Not trying to be mean, just helpful.

Update:

I got the e-shop games & saves back and wanted to do the emunand but unfortunately with the latest update (8.0), emunand is not booting.
So in the end i did everything all over again and gave up on the e-shop games for now.
I have them backed-up so i can always get them back in the future.

This emunand method is very uncomfortable for me, are they working to make e-shop games work without emunand, or emunand will only be the only way to have e-shop games available?
