Programer, directer, designer, indie, producer, drawing, music, blah blah
Do not have to make an actual product.
Just capable would be great
And hacking is a different thing despite it's much harder

I threw my pretty little hat in the ring a few times and attempted to make a few games on several different platforms using several different programs. I never got far and never released anything. I have a very short attention span, so most of my programming is short lived and end up being a virus I never release.

I taught some physics to a few game devs once, I dare say I could probably do a few things on that list as well.

However I reckon game dev is probably one of the worst programming/tech jobs you can get. No chance of me doing it unless I decide to make some homebrew, or unless pay and conditions are something respectable (unlikely when you can hire loads of kids that are willing to do it despite the lousy pay and conditions).

I remember feeling that the game-making process never seemed to end :P ....until you almost couldn't stand doing the game anymore..
not that I would call myself a developer, but doing games felt to me as a tiresome infinite process most of the times ...(not that I wouldn't try that again though..)

I've made several extremely small games in C++ and SFML, none of which span more than 2000 lines of code....sooo, I guess I count. :P

I worked for 4 years in Super Smash Bros. Crusade, a pc fangame, multitasking (Made music, GUI Design, Some Sprites, Balancing, Coding etc) , but i am almost out of touch with game development.

I am doing small things for Super Smash Clash (Android fangame, yah yah i have problem with Smash Bros. fangames i know it hahahaha) if that counts.

I used to sit there for hours on end back in the 80s typing out all the code that used to be in magazines just to play the most basic of games.

Then having to spend even more hours going through the entire lot, because of syntax errors and trying to find out where i had missplaced a comma or " or whatever else.

Those were the days!

In some magazines you used to get literally thousands of lines of code to type in.

I run an indie team, not sure if that really counts. We're currently working on a small project, but no where near release mainly due to artist problems.

I might count, I might not.

At the moment I'm an intern at a small game company owned by my school. So all the interns are students and we have to everything ourselves without the help of someone with more experience.
It's Summer vacation now so I'm kind of trying things myself. I've currently been working on 2 small android games, one is a endless runner and the other one a platformer(which I'm not working on at the moment).

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.
