I've been away from my 3DS several months since Gateway released Omega because I have an R4i Deluxe and no new firmwares were being released. Now that 4.0B2 is out, I've started playing my 3DS again so I apologize if I'm not up to date on compatibility.

I'm wondering how to get Virtual Console games to work on R4i 4.0B2. eShop games seem to work (only tested Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies and Pushmo and they both worked) but VC games give me an error and I need to power off my 3DS. I've tried Zelda (NES), Zelda: Links Awakening DX (GBC), and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe with no success. Do these games work on R4i at all?

Also, my second question is why none of my firmware 3.0-3.3 saves seem to work on 4.0B2. Either it gives a corrupted save message, or it doesn't recognize my save at all and overwrites a new save. Is this a known issue? Why do old saves not work on the new firmware? Is there anything I can do to use my old saves?

Thanks.

The only game that *could* have issues is bravely default, that was the only game that overlapped save types between gateway 1.2 and 2.0.....I can't keep track of the order which the clones put out FW files as they went forwards and backwards on FW versions, but that being said I think a few people have claimed the new R4 FW is buggy and randomly deletes saves

there seems to be a save deleting bug... to me it's pretty random. Some saves got deleted and when I formatted the microsd they stopped being deleted but others got.... For the number of people that must be using the update I don't see much people having the bug . Being that the saves deleted changed upon formatting the sd card I'm starting to think it can depend on the microsd... what microsd are you using?

To play the VC games

I tried the card2 to card1 tool and it didn't work. Am I doing something wrong? I just ran "splitter.exe" that came with the download, selected my .3ds ROM file and clicked "Patch". It said "Patched successfully", but when I try to load the games I get the same error.

I'm mostly interested to play Zelda for NES and Super Mario Bros Deluxe. Can anyone try to see if these games work on their R4i?

I'm using a Lexar 16 GB microsd that I purchased retail.

I'll try formatting my microSD and putting only 1 ROM at a time. I think it might be the multi-ROM feature that is causing the errors. I'll test it when I get home from work.

Nevermind, it looks like VC games don't yet work on the R4i: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhrDODzRxvzwdGgzZVBIYmZhZUdzdlAtZG4ySW9jWHc

I'll try to figure out the game save corruption issues as it seems others are having this problem.

Please do , althought I have to think they are pretty random. I have tried m any things to find and prevent the cause and I haven't been able to. For starters , it seems japanese games always delete their old saves..
