I ran Nintendont on a wii with HBC accessed through Gecko. It instantly tried to load the ISO then gave a message saying "This version of ios58 is not supported!" Then reset the wii. Whenever the wii powers back on the same message is displayed and the screen goes black. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this and/or how to remedy it?

Read this (from the page 1):

I have an error, what does it mean, what should I do?
There are few errors you could encounter.

• IOS58 is not the correct version on Wii!:
It means you are using an outdated IOS58 on your Wii. Update it.
IOS58_installer from Tantric doesn't install the correct and latest version.
To update your IOS58, you need to find the correct file version. You can extract IOS58-64-v6176.wad from a game's disc (wiixplorer), a game's ISO (Wiiscrubber), or download it with modmii or NUSD.
Install IOS58-64-v6176.wad using a wad manager which is NOT patching the IOS. If your HBC is upside down, reinstall the Wad using a different wad manager.

THIS IS NOT FOR vWII on WiiU !!!! NEVER INSTALL IOS58 MANUALLY ON YOUR WIIU!
THIS IS ONLY AN ERROR ON OLD WII !

THE ISO58 ON WIIU IS ALREADY THE CORRECT VERSION...... DON'T TRY TO FIX SOMETHING IF IT'S NOT BROKEN!!!

after installing nintendont it went straight to a black screen saying "This version of ios58 is not supported!" then cut to a black screen, and now that happens every single time i turn the wii on immediately, holding reset doesn't take me to homebrew channel

is there a way rectify the situation without having access to the homebrew channel or wii menu

I'm still wondering why the F did you make the wii boot straight to nintendont if you couldn't get it to work well yet. Don't you have priiloader or something installed?

ok, i got homebrew installed by a friend to eventually get SSBM 20xx training pack, never did, got japanese OoT instead, then my wii remote shit the bed, and since i only had so much of homebrew to get OoT and priiloader wasn't working or whatever, i got gecko so i could launch games without wii remote, gecko was fine but i had to access homebrew through holding reset or through installed programs, then i wanted to get another game i went to get nintendont to run it, installed nintendont and it said it worked, reset the system to try it out, showed the error message, screen went black, now no matter what i do, power on/off, reset, hold reset, unplug and replug, i get the error message and a black screen, probably because of conflicting settings with the SD card i was borrowing to install nintendon't. so i'm stuck

i have to hold power to even turn it off

now, this is EXACTLY why people should read, and read, and keep reading before messing with homebrew. You somehow made it boot straight to nintendont everytime you power it on, the only way to rectify that is to make it boot to something else.. If you had priiloader you could hold reset while its booting, not sure what you can do in this case
