GB Pokemon Multiplayer

So, I own a couple Game boys, and I was wondering, since I have Pokemon Blue (EU version) and Pocket Monsters Silver (the japanese version). Can I trade pkmn from the EU version to the JP version and vice-versa?

Pretty sure you can, games are multi regional so.

You can't link them (AFAIK). Japanese pokemon games (until gen IV I believe) can only link with other japanese games, while eu <-> us games can link without any problem.

you can't trade them.

you can trade a french with a english one for example, but not japansese with english.

Trades between Pokémon games in different languages are possible in this generation; however, a Japanese game cannot connect with a non-Japanese game. The latter will always result in corruption if attempted. This is due to the fact that the games cannot automatically translate the Pokémon data from Japanese to a different language or vice versa, since there is not enough room on either cartridge for all of the text, namely kana and the Latin alphabet (a feature that would later become possible).

make some research before saying "pretty sure".

You can make a successful trade but the japanese one will crash afterwords, make some research before shoving bulbapedia to my face.
