I'm getting a Japanese Wii from a friend that has firmware 4.3 on it. I'm also buying a WODE. However it seems from what I've read that the WODE region hack only works on 4.1 or lower. Is this true? Is there some way around this so I can play US back ups?

Do I have to downgrade the Wii? I can't find how to do this anywhere.

Or is there a better/easier way around this?

Sorry for my stupid noob question! Thanks so much in advance for your help!!

Is it possible to install HBC ond WodeFlow on a 4.3J (Japanese) Wii with a WODE? I can't seem to find that anywhere!

Also, is there a good noob installation walkthrough for Priiloader?

Thanks again!!

i dont think you will need a drive emulator, you can install easly the homebrew channel and region unlock it

there is no need for buy anything.... if i am not mistaken...

Looks like I need HBC in order to load Priiloader, right?

you can use modmii, for easly create the stuff.

if you want the "manual" way:

use letterbomb to install Homebrew channel ( http://please.hackmii.com/ )

install bootmii make a nand backup (better safe than sorry) and install priiloader, in priiloader there is a option for region unlock and you are pratically done, if you want other stuff is up to you and you can ask

i think the wode is pointless on the wii, you can just plug a hard drive in and run games from there which is way more simpler than messing about with a ode device

Thank you so much for the helpful responses!

How do you make a nand back up?

Where do I find my MAC Address?

Do I need Hackmii, or should I uncheck that box?

Excuse me for the dumb noob questions! :(

There's really no need to buy an ODE when softmodding allows you to load games from a USB hdd so easily.

I've modded about 10 wiis with the following steps (taken from http://gwht.wikidot.com/):

http://gwht.wikidot.com/homebrew-channel
http://gwht.wikidot.com/ios236
http://gwht.wikidot.com/d2x (I install d2xV8 final from here: https://code.google.com/p/d2x-cios/downloads/list)
http://gwht.wikidot.com/usb-loader
http://gwht.wikidot.com/forwarder

Or you could use modmii which walks you through the process: http://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/
I've never used it but many around here recommend it. Once you've modded one manually it's trivial to do it again.
