MyMenuify doesn't work on my Wii, so what other programs can install wii system menu themes?

...you should figure out why mymenuify doesn't work and fix that problem instead...or try another version of MyMenuify.

That said, you have one, maybe two options that i know of (which are really two ways of using the same option)....Customizmii (you can get it from modmii) is a is a PC app which allows you to combine a theme and SM.wad which you can then install with a wad manager. also, Modmii can make themed system menu wads (i'm sure it utilizes customizemii as well). i don't know if it's possible, but you can see how modmii does this and substitute out the ones it downloads with your own. HOWEVER: i would ONLY install themed SM.wads if you have bootmii/boot2 though...since installing a system menu wad leaves you without priiloader. without bootmii/boot2, it's a full brick if you have a corrupt theme. using mymenuify leaves priiloader intact so you should be able to recover from theme bricks.

i've never done it, but i imagine you could test out a themed SM.wad with dolphin to reduce the risk of a corrupt theme....don't know if that's possible though. ...someone with more dolphin experience would need to chime in.

EDIT: silly me: along the same lines of maybe testing in dolphin, you could (and should) test themed SM.wads in a *NEEK environment.

customizemii is only for making channels not system wads
modmii uses a command line app to add a theme to the system menu app then packs it in the menu wad to be installed
installing a themed wad can brick your wii if not done correctly as it will delete priiloader from your wii

you should look here to see if this helps fix mymenuify on your wii

Orrrr you could make a NAND backup, edit it in ShowMiiNand and replace the system menu title with the one the theme maker on the PC gives you, then reflash the NAND.

ah shiiiit...i'm an idiot. i was meaning ThemeMii, not customizemii... but i think i'm still wrong. i thought i had made some themed system menu wads in the past using it, but after looking at it closer, i think i'm just remembering incorrectly. Suck!~

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
