Hello, i noticed that Zelda OoT 3D runs choppy, especially in the Hyrule plan, the game have really noticeable stuttering.

The strange thing is that with the 3D enabled the game run better and smoother.
In some case the game have slowdown in both 2D and 3D, but in general in 2D the game runs bad.

I have an 3DSXL with 4.4.0 FMW and Gateway at 2.2.
Can anyone tell me if have the same problems and if there is a solution?
Thank you :)

p.s. i have never tried the retail version, but i didn't read of this FPS problems on other forums, so i assume that the game on original cardridge runs better... is this correct?

Honestly i think it is your micro-sd card, can you try another one?

I have this microSD

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDS...SDXC-Adapter/dp/B007XZL7PC/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

It should be a good one, i read on this forum that many people recommended it.
The card is formatted in exFAT because i read that the games will have faster loading and better performance, maybe in FAT32 the game runs better?

BTW i have another microSD of 2GB that is pretty old, i can give a try...

I just wanted to say that, having played through the retail version 5 or 6 times, it runs at a consistent 30fps almost the entire game. I can think of maybe two or three times off the top of my head when the frame rate drops (one of them being when you shoot Ganondorf with a Light Arrow in the final battle).

In 2D and 3D mode?

The game's been confirmed to run in 30FPS with 3D ON and 60 FPS with 3D OFF. I can personally confirm it too because I own the retail game. If it's really bad then it's probably your SD card. I'm not saying the card is slow but maybe formatted incorrectly? *shrugs* but regardless it shouldn't be lagging.

I play exclusively in 3D mode (unless someone is watching over my shoulder), so yes.

For me too the game runs at perfect 30fps (most of the time at least) with 3D active, so sadly this can't help my case :/
Maybe the game is just optimized for 3D and in 2D mode runs worse... have you still the game?

If yes, can you try it in 2D mode and tell me if the game run at perfect 30FPS?
Go out the Hyrule Field, its a perfect benchmark place for testing the framerate.

Thank you :)

Nope, this is false, the game not run at 60fps in any case, maybe you are confusing with Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
In this case you are right, 30 in 3D and 60 in 2D.
The same is for Super Street Fighter 4, that i have tried 1 minute ago... runs perfectly fine in 3D and 2D.

I tried googling it but I couldn't find out rather or not 3d OFF is 60FPS. Some say it is, some say it's not. If you turn off 3D though is it smoother so there's no telling.

A Link Between Worlds though is 60FPS with 3D on. It was confirmed by nintendo and it's one of the few games that actually run in 60FPS.

Oh i see what you mean now. That's... Really weird. I'm preoccupied at the moment, but later on I'll be sure to check it out and report back. ;)

the other comments: OoT 3D runs in 30 fps in both 2D and 3D, and aLBW runs in 60fps in both 2D and 3D.

Wow, even better then!
Thank you for the 2D test, it will be very appreciated ^^
Vanth88: trust me, no way that OoT runs at 60fps, just read the Iwata asks
http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interviews/#/3ds/zelda-ocarina-of-time/3/1

I prefer the 60fps in videogames, but i'm fine with locked 30fps too, i just wanna play a smooth experience like when 3D is active :/

AFAIK all games run on the system nand, so the emunand doesn't matter.
Actually cartridges run on emuNAND on gateway's classic mode AND gateway mode. The only way to run games on the real NAND is without Gateway's exploit (I know the exploit has a proper name but I can't be bothered to look and find it)

any news :) ?
I'm still playing and yes, the framerate is still bad in 2D, the worse point i found is in this house in Kakariko Village
http://www.zelda.com/ocarina3d/_ui/img/worldmap/screenshots/kakariko-village-1.jpg

EDIT: The one on the right LEFT, the one with the poster with an hammer, where there is the wife of the guy near the tree, in this case the game stutter like hell, even in 3D.
I'm start thinking that the game is simply bad optimized, because all other games runs perfectly, this situation have no sense :/

Of course I totally forgot. :hateit: I'm sorry, guy/girl. It's late now, but I'll do my best to remember and report tomorrow.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
