Minimum System Requirement:
DirectX 11 graphics card with 1 GB Video RAM - Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770

so if you have one of one of them it should be fine

A note, DO NOT go for an AMD GPU. The devs didn't optimize the game at all for AMD cards, and it'll run terribly if you end up buying an AMD GPU. While they're supposed to release a patch to "fix performance issues", it'll be a while before AMD cards get the same performance as NVIDIA.

... So you think it won't be long before they release the patch? Fix your wording.

The wording is perfectly fine, the addition of "While" to that sentence along with the additional statement after the comma implies that I don't think the patch previously mentioned is going to work.

But "I doubt it will be a while before they get the same performance" means you don't think it will take long.

Even with a GTX 770 I'm getting stutter and frame rate drops.
If Nvidia graphics cards give the best perfomance the game has to be badly optimized.

Edit: Forgot to say I have to play on Low to reduce the stutter and frame rate drops which still frequently happen.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh.

That's odd, as I have a GTX 750 Ti and the game runs perfectly stable on Ultra for me.

I think the 750ti uses the maxwell architerture. Maybe that's it.
People who have lower cards always say they can play fine, and it's getting on my nerves.(´;ω;`)
Oh well I got the game for free :V

As with most recent Ubisoft games, don't set the game to highest settings and expect it to work. Manually customize the settings. Some of the settings make no visual difference between ultra and high, but have big performance hits.

Huh.
I'm running on a 760 with ultra settings, and it's fine for me...

So because Nvidia basically fucked up competition by forcing devs to use their gameworks solutions instead of fixing the game itself everybody should thank them by buying their GPU instead of AMD one. :glare:

I do own Nvidia but this game certainly made me think to support AMD instead in future. They have been getting even over Nvidia performance vice lately if it weren't for Nvidias exclusive game features. It would be pretty bad future if we either have to choose GPU based on do we want hair simulation or water reflection or even worse Nvidia being monopoly.

They just must get game to work performance vice with AMD from both ubisoft and AMD end for simple fact that customers have bought both with real life money. Game seems to have other performance issues as well even on Nvidia so I would certainly wait for few months for everything to settle down.

Err...the problem with that assumption is it's hardly NVidia's fault for how the devs handle the optimization  NVidia doesn't force anyone to use Gameworks...ever. NVidia's Gameworks doesn't include anything at all that stops AMD optimization, it's the devs themselves that decided whether they want to bother doing it or not. AMD is also partly to blame, since they apparently never even bothered offering their services to the devs for Watch Dogs in the first place.

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling

even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there

and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
