Hacking Wii U softmodding, a few questions

Hi, I recently purchased a Wii U and I would like to softmod it to play my Wii games, but I need a bit of help

1. I understand you need one of a few certain games to softmod it, and I can go down to my local Kmart and pick one up, but I just think it's odd that the only wii games my kmart has are both games you can softmod the wii u with (SSBB, Lego Batman). Could these games have been patched or updated so they won't work with the save exploits?

2.I read for an external hard drive to work with a Wii U, the Wii U must format it, is this true for using the hard drive in wii mode?

3. Does the Wii U stream homebrew and backups being played in Wii mode to the gamepad?

4. I have a 3TB Seagate external hard drive that's powered from an external power supply, do I need anything special for it to work on the Wii U?

1. I don't think Super Smash Bros Brawl would be patched but if you are paranoid try ebay.
2. Wii U and Wii Mode uses different hard drive file systems. Hard Drive used for Wii U can't be used in Wii Mode and vice versa that I know of. Basically unless you are downloading retail wii u games from the eshop just use your hard drive for wii mode.
3. Yes it copies anything that is on the TV to the gamepad. Gamepad doesn't control games though, so you still have to use a wiimote.
4. I think 2TB is the limit for Wii Mode and prob for Wii U mode. I'm unsure if you can partition it to show up as 2 hard drives but 2TB is enough to store most Wii Games (unless you want all the Shovel Ware as well). Make sure to plug it into the back USB port and depending on how you mod VWii only one of the 2 usb ports might work.

Alright, so I went out and purchased Lego Batman for the Wii, buuuut the only one they had came with a Dvd of of the Batman The Movie, does anyone know if this will work with the exploit? I just wanna make sure I know before I open it and can't return it.

I don't think it's possible to brick your console for trying a trick with a patched game disk (I think only Zelda got patched out, and it doesn't work at all on vWii U. I think they banned the gamesave). I know Smash works regardless because it uses the SD Card and not any system files. Also don't insert the sd card while in wii u mode as I know it deletes the files needed for the Smash hack to work might be the same for batman (or set SD to read only while in Wii U mode but I just leave it out unless I'm in wii mode).
