I press on any of my games from Genesis VC, and they say "unsupported format" on my TV itself, (not Wii) I have it plugged into HD. Help! Thanks!

Edit: Also, Genplus GX works.

Some VC gets screwy with 480p. Here's a solution.
1. Change the tv settings in the Wii settings menu to 480i (don't worry this is just temporary)

2. Start a VC game. and hit the home button after 30 seconds or so.

3. Select operations manual and the connect a nunchuck to the wiimote.

4. Now hold down A and 2 at the same time on the wiimote and z on the nunchuck. You should here a chime.

5. Exit the operations manual and all should be fine. Now switch your tv settings back to 480p.

No chime, and it turns out it was already in 480i. Testing to see if it works (the games) in 480P.

Maybe it was already active you can try the same thing but press 1 instead of 2. It will turn off that option.

Edit: Disregard this post since you have it working but it may be useful if you run into this problem with other games in the future.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
