As many of you know, there has been some sad news recently in Nintendo's neck of the gaming world: Very soon, Nintendo will be cutting online play on the DS and Wii. In honor of all those years of good times with friends in your living room, all the way to playing with someone halfway around the world, and in memory of all the great events we had during the years, I'm hosting one last official DS tournament to ride out the shutdown with gusto!
Dry your eyes, Tempers! This should be happy times! Besides, we have a few prizes to give out to our winners thanks to our friends at Zhuzhuchina! Places 1-3 will get:
1st: 1 Gateway 3DS Flash Cart kit + 16 Gigabyte microSD card
2nd: 1 3DS Gold Deluxe Flash Cart kit
3rd: 1 Supercard DStwo Flash Cart (3DS Compatible)

Tournament Instructions
1. Use this thread to sign up. All you have to do is post and say something like "Im in" or "I want to participate". That's it.
2. On the day the tournament starts everyone will be paired. In the case of an odd number of players sign up, the "Odd one out" will be assigned a blank matchup. A "Bye". a "Bye" is considered a contestant in the tournament, the only difference is, a "Bye" always loses. There may be more than one "Bye" for a leg of the tournament. There may even be only one actual match in the second leg for example, every other match being a "bye" match. This is a single elimination tournament. in the event that you are matched with a Bye, just sit tight until the next tourney day. No need to do anything.
3. It is both of the contestant's responsibility to contact each other for their match! Everyone will have a week to contact their match partner, and two days to complete the match once the time has been agreed upon. When it's posted, you can find your match-up HERE.
4. Each leg of the tournament will be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, alternating. Your match result must be PMed to me by 11:59PM PST the day of that leg of the tournament along with a screen shot of the results. (That means have a camera at the ready!) Only one screen shot is needed, so you must decide among yourselves who is to take it. I would advise you both to take the screen shot to have one as backup, because you will both be responsible for it, and if no screen shot is submitted, you will both be disqualified.
5. After each leg of the tournament I will post the new match-ups on the tournament page proper, so keep an eye on the page to find your new match-up! You will have until the coming Wednesday or Saturday to organize a time to play for that day.
6. There will be a match between the semifinal losers for third place.
7. Your match games are limited to this list ONLY. You do not get to choose the game. The game will be chosen for you by process of random.org, so practice up on all of them! Get familiar with the rules of each game before game day!
Blackjack
Last Card Plus
Texas Hold Em
Chinese checkers
Checkers

8. In the event of a tie(between you and your match partner), the results of that game is nil, and you'll need to play another one. Computer players are obviously not in the tournament, so if you get 3rd and your partner gets 4th for the match, while the computer players get 1st and 2nd, the 3rd place player is the obvious winner.
Rules
1. Cheating will be met with disqualification from this event and every other GBAtemp event in the future. No exceptions. Do not pass Go!, Do not collect $200.
2. Tournament days will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From the point that the matchup sheet is listed, to the day of the tournament, you have the responsibility to contact each other for a proper and agreed-upon match time. If an agreement is not reached by the end of the Tournament day, both players will be disqualified. In the event that one person PMs the other, and he/she doesn't respond, an automatic win will be assigned to the person who initiated contact.
3. Results of the match along with a screenshot must be posted to me no later than 11:59 PM PST the day of the leg of the tournament (Again on Saturdays and Wednesdays) Failing to do so will be a disqualification of both contestants.
4. In the event that one person does not show up within 1 hour of the agreed-upon time, the no-show will be disqualified and the other contestant will be declared winner of the match.
5 Tournament days start at 12:00AM, and end at 11:59PM PST. Again, Match results must be posted to me BEFORE the end of the tournament day!
6. One entry per member per IP address
7. Chances are I will have to make a judgement call based on evidence given, and chances are, someone will disagree with one or more of those decisions. I'm not all knowing, and I'm not infallible, but my word is final. Feel free to PM me to discuss why you think I'm wrong, but odds are my decision will stay the same. I don't have any problems admitting when I'm wrong, however.
8. Have fun!
