Not normally one to bitch but... perhaps gateway would get the release done sooner if they weren't having to waste their time reading/deleting/answering all these inane emails people are sending them.

It will be done when it is done. They have no remit to deliver version 2 by any sort of deadline OR to remove their brick code so I imagine they will take their time and make sure they do a good job of it. I would imagine they are working to make a new brick code which is safe for gateway users, impossible to remove and breaks all the clones. They have already shown they want to protect their interests so I don't think we will see a release until they are sure they can. Why else would there be such a delay when we've already seen a demo of a near finished product?

A more optimistic viewpoint would be that they are working on new features.... perhaps related to the new encryption? Personally I think this is unlikely.

Anyway! Either wait patiently or take your business somewhere else. Really tired of reading people posting crap about gateway being finished or gateway re branding. We will just have to wait and see.

what you say are mostly suggestions... but afterall, why am i not suppost to ask for more info ?? I've paid a fairly 60 bucks for a product i doubt to trust because the brick/glitch in there software. They kept updating with promises they can't fulfill. I've all the rights to get some more info about my product. It's more than one week ago so suggesting i've no patience is bullshit. This so called 'company' is a big farce! :gun:

RocketRon - No you don't ...you paid $60 to a company who sold you the flash card ...so why not ask them for support?? ...instead of Gateway 3DS?? ...Gateway 3DS did not sell it to you!
Gateway 3DS owes you and several other users who purchased the card ....absolutely nothing! :ha:
It's a illegal "in most countries" flash card after all! :wtf:

Gateway has no right to brick user's systems. The only right they have is to implement protection so their launcher does not function on clone hardware. If they were in a first-world nation, they'd be out of business pretty quick with their illegal bricking of system.

Also, they've stolen the work of others to implement their 3DS card, so it's pretty hypocritical of them to get so pissy about others stealing their work.

I don't think people have logic sometimes, if you buy something you chose to buy it based on its current capabilities, if you bought it expecting extra features, you have just learnt the first lesson in avoiding disappointment in future, if you can't live with it how it is and the only reason you want something is unreleased feature's, just don't buy it until it has all the features you want.

The only games it doesn't support ATM is Pokemon and animal crossing, if that's all you wanted it for you could of spent the money buying them instead, I think people are just crying for the sake of it now,

People seem to expect to much from a illegitimate business, damn drug dealers selling you drugs that are cut with flour.....I mean come on its a dodgy business to begin with, do you expect them to play fair?

I agree with all this. It seems everybody is crying over 2 unreleased features (multi-rom and nand saving) that don't effect the overall performance on the card. If somebody wants to play pokemon or online, they shouldn't have bought the card in the first place as it's been known that these features are not available. If you want multi-rom, buy some more microsd cards.
I'm wondering if some of these complainers went crying to their mommies to email Gateway and demand they release 2.0f.

i kinda covered in my tests that you don't know if you have bricked until you reset the console if you are running emunand, the bricking that i triggered with diagnostics, still allowed me to boot into emunand, i can stay in emunand as much as i like from that point.......if my battery went flat for example, at that point im out of emunand and finally see that my console is bricked, i could of stayed in emunand for 10 years, never knowing that i was already bricked until i finally reset, This explains pretty much every official gateway report i have seen, i.e running out of power will kick you from emunand, exiting sytem setting's after the brick has occurred will boot you back to your bricked nand so you get a BSOD at that point instead(well it would actually just crash on a black screen untill you force reset...then you get the BSOD),basically any way you are kicked out of emunand would "appear" to be a different trigger, when in actual fact they could all be the exact same brick just discovered via a different route

this is not to say that diagnostics is the only way to brick, but that the point of when you find out is completely unrelated to the cause

I am really confused on how to avoid 3DS bricking. I am new to the scene, have a 4.4 3DS, and retail Gateway 3DS. The only thing I have done is used the blue card to install the exploit (Beta Firmware GW 2.0b2), used the Gateway menu to backup my nand (twice, I'm paranoid), and then have used first option "Boot Gateway Mode" and played a game with the Gateway card. I have NOT done the format emunand option, nor run the classic mode. I've only done "Boot Gateway Mode" and "Back up Nand".

From what I understand, this kill switch put in my Gateway, only happens when you use emunand. I think my best bet is to stay away from emunand until this is sorted out. Is this the best advice for now? Thank you for your help.

Your best best is to use gateway 2.0b1. The bricking code can still be triggered(very unlikely but still possible) from just everyday use.

Best and safest bet is to use b1, avoiding emunand won't prevent the issue, avoiding diagnostics on b2 makes it less common, but a user at max console has reported they bricked without using diagnostics....if you don't want to risk it just use the b1, that is perfectly fine to use, but you just have to keep your emunand on 4.x or not bother setting it up, hopefully gateway will fix/remove the bricking code for 2.0 final

Just to be clear - To use Gateway 2.0b1, all I would need to do is replace the 2.0b2 Launcher.dat on the SD card with the 2.0b1 Launcher.dat? I don't ever need to run the blue cards exploit again... correct? Thank you again for the help.

If anyone is looking for the b1 firmware, although it isn't listed on Gateway webpage, the old link they had is still there. Just look at the dl link and change the name accordingly.

also, might be a good idea to have "how to avoid bricking" added to some noob top thread.

Yes, you only have to use the blue card exploit installer if you run a ds mode flashcart

That or they have completely given up on ever putting out another update but in order to hold onto sales they put out a teaser here and there to keep stringing us along. I have honestly given up on them

That's where I'm at, too. If I stop expecting them to ever release 2.0 final, I won't be disappointed when they don't.

All things considered, as long as I don't wind up bricking, it was still worth the eighty bucks to get around 50 retail 3DS games. I got trade-in credit for the six retail games I DID have before I got my Gateway, which got me a few new PS3 games, so, even if no other updates ever get released, I still wind up ahead.

Exactly. Regardless if GW 2.0 comes out its still worth the 70 (price cut). Also 50 retail games? You mean hundreds, with the exception of nand saving games. Tbh people waiting for Pokemon and Animal crossing make no sense since those games heavily rely on online interaction so it would be best to buy physical copies. I have both so nand saving isn't all that big a deal.

Well, I only have about fifty games out of all of the ones currently dumped. I could get more, but, most of them I either have in some form on another console, or just am not interested in.

You play one LEGO game, you've played 'em all.

For me, Fire Emblem and Sonic All Stars Racing made my Gateway purchase worth it, and the current promotion at Club Nintendo was the cherry on top of the cake. How ironic, Nintendo making Flashcard consumers happy by giving one of the two games not currently piratable for free and with online support, something that would not have been possible even with GW 2.0.

Already had Sonic All-Stars Racing, both on PS Vita and Android, both free. I am going to take a crack at Fire Emblem after I 100% Bravely Default.

That's the number one thing that sucks about Bravely Default; you can't rebuild Norende unless you have Bravely Default running, so I have not switched my ROM for the past couple of weeks.

Next time I run through that game, I am going to abuse the demo's glitch that allows you to get up to twenty villagers to transfer over to the main game. Trying to rebuild with only three villagers takes FOREVER.

If they want to get up and leave I am fine with that since they pioneered a great product for us. What pisses me off is getting strung along. Like why the f*ck couldnt they put out 2.0 with just nand saving or maybe just multirom depending on whats working and whats not. This to me just seems like malicious stringing along in order to make money. I am at the boycott gateway point
