They did announce it was available for a limited time only in the US eShop so if you missed out it's your fault no one else's to blame.

Now then, for Europeans we'll be getting Super Mario Bros. Deluxe but instead Nintendo will be emailing the codes to the people with Registered Nintendo IDs or that linked their 2DS/3DS to their Wii U.

I do wish that you could buy the game during the times when a promotion isn't offered. All of my friends (as well as me) got it this time around so we can play it, but it is kind of annoying that people who want to get this game (and would be willing to pay) can't except once every couple of years... especially when it's a game that almost demands you play with other people.

In any case, if you missed it you can try whining to Nintendo support about it. You'll probably just have to wait for some CFW that allows you to play eshop software that you don't have a license to.

I was able to load 2.02b on my sd card last night, format the card with emunand update to the latest firmware and setup the eshop and download the Zelda game around 8 or 9 last night. I got it on the last day.

I took my chances. and nothing happened which during the time people claimed their 3ds got bricked nothing happened to mine. (knock on wood) :P

Not the same thing at all.
Its about 70% the same thing.
Should be good enough for one of the weakest Zelda experiences in the Franchise.
Four Swords Anniversary is just a few levels of mini "dungeons" that are no more than a shallow proof of concept.

It was a Multiplayer bonus to Link to the Past GBA. Thers some Zelda-like gameplay, and it does have a story, but its not a full-Zelda game. Its like if New Super Mario World had 2 worlds instead of 8.

The story, without giving spoilers is based around collecting Ruppees, and you don't have a Hyrule to explore, more like a Hub menu where you choose to pick a forest level, or an ice level, and so on. The levels are designed to where you help your partner progress, yet compete with them for a higher score. Rather than in normal Zelda where you go back and forth between floors and rooms trying to solve the dungeon, you're basically just expected to go from point A to B, to move onto the next round, and then a Boss Fight thats been designed to be fought by the color of Link you control.

The Anniversary Edition makes it to where Multiple people aren't necessary, and adds some levels. Its a mini-Zelda thats more like mission-type gameplay than exploration Zelda that the franchise is known for. We're talking about two hours most to see and do everything the game has to offer. This isn't a bad Zelda game, but if you're worried about missing it, you're not missing much.

Four Swords Gamecube is the better Multiplayer Zelda no one played.

You mean The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. The game people outside the US still confuse with this crap. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures was a great game. Wish I still had my copy so I could play it on my Wii. Still have my gamecube memory card with 4 completed saves on it and the official nintendo power guide for the game.

No, I mean four swords gamecube. Theres only one gamecube game with the Title Four swords, so Four Swords gamecube is enough. Any Zelda fan should know enough which game to identify on partial title. Its no different than identifying The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64 Entertainment System®, as Ocarina64, or just OoT64.
