What is left to do with a bricked console?
If your console bricked because of using the Gateway then there would be no other way.
Would you send it to N? or just put your bricked console on the shelf because you are scared to send a piece of bricked sh*t to stranger?
I just want to say that it can't get any worse if you have a bricked console.

You might as well get a used one off of eBay, simple. $100 to ship it is pretty damned exorbitant.

You could probably find one with a cracked screen on eBay for under $50. Not sure if it'd have the FW that you'd want, but at least you'd have a working system.

There is plenty to do with a bricked console, one such things is use it as a paper weight, or use it as a doors step or even part of a bookshelf.

Same here, it'd be helluva lot less stressful to just buy a second-hand 3DS from Nintendo's online store (or a refurbished one, which is pretty cheap) than to have a bricked system, send it off and then have the GW team tell you it was a clone when you in fact didn't use one. If you don't need a 4.5 3DS, sure. But most people on here probably want/need a 4.5 3DS which is getting harder to get. Unless the ones on Nintendo's store come <4.5.

I'd rather hold out a bit and see if a method to fix the bricked 3DS arises. If GW can do it, or so they claim, then it must be possible. Or they are lying and can't even fix their own brick and this is all just to save face.

If gateway can fix brick 3ds' s. Just till them to send you the files . It would be easier then shipping it to gateway and it would save time. But they want to make money also

So after reading a bit, this theory popped in my head. This is how everything is going chronologically:
X) a lot of shit going on beforehand from the beginning of using the exploit and all the work getting copied by other teams etc. etc.
x1) gw releases new BETA FW
x2) Some people get their 3DS bricked
x3) as a sorry, GW team is taking your 3ds in case you're a user of gw and one of the unfortunate and fixing it for free. (if you're unhonest you have to pay 100$ to get it back still bricked)

What if all this is made on purpose by GW team. When you put it in strategic steps and try to forecast what's next you get this
X).....
Y) To develop patches for different things time, knowledge and materials are needed
Y1) GW team also bricks quite a few 3ds, it's out of the question, and it's harder everyday to get the old 3ds with low fw
Y2) GW come up with a plan how to get old 3ds's by bricking them with new code in beta fw and makes a key for getting it fixed
X1) ......
X2) ......
X3) ......
Y4) (two possible outcomes out of many are burning in my eyes)

As a summary i want to say that GW profits one way or another. GW team are pirates, firsthand ones, unlike most of the bunch and one thing that internet and especially eve online taught me is to never trust a pirate. And I'm not letting this theory go until i see a proof from GW user standing in photo with his fixed 3ds, a thank you letter in bold times new roman 76 sized font in his brand new ferrari.. It only shows how malicious and cruel pirates can be when they want to, and especially when you put your trust in them and don't forget that no matter what flashcart you bought, you are the user, from the community of the people who don't want or can't support the monopoly going on in this world in one way or another and you all are one team while all those flashcart developers have their own separate teams. All of us have different goals. Don't forget why you bought your flashcart to begin with, don't flame on others who bought another one, and support each other, cause we all have one another here while the other teams are part of the lower tier money and trust seeking hounds, and when they will our community as no longer profitable, we will be flying straight to the bucket of trash while on their blackboard will be other plans how to use people, how to make us run dry.

advanced marketing, make the customer believe nothing exists beforehand, while in this case everybody is stuck on that paying or not paying part when/if or whatever. Then the rule applies while to begin with it's 50/50 you're getting your 3ds back. and if 50/50 seems reasonable it's the same as giving a bum 100$ and telling him to give it back to you 1 month later. it's still 50/50 but there are too many minor factors that adjust the odds.

P.s only trust people you drink with for fifteen times at least in this world

If on the other hand, it's not a legit GW brick and you send it, then don't pay the return postage and never see it again.

No matter how you look at it, you either get your 3DS fixed FOR FREE, or you are no worse off because currently, your 3DS IS A BRICK.

This is mostly true. The problem is you are out some cash for postage and you also have to send in your GW flash cart. Worst case scenario, you lose $20 of shipping, $30 of broken 3ds, and $80 of flashcart.

On the plus side, If someone actually does this, we get to see if gateway will really keep their word. I fully expect them not to though.

Edit: Even then, it is economically worth buying it back. $110 of stuff back for $100...
