Are you going to send your 3DS to Gateway ?
They will fix it for free.
A bricked 3DS is of no value ... you might as well try it.
This seems like very good news for you.
Good luck![]()

No sane person would send their 3DS off, for it to be stolen or held at ransom...
Seriously, anyone who believes anything that the Gateway team says, are f*cking stupid.

What is left to do with a bricked console?
If your console bricked because of using the Gateway then there would be no other way.
Would you send it to N? or just put your bricked console on the shelf because you are scared to send a piece of bricked sh*t to stranger?
I just want to say that it can't get any worse if you have a bricked console.
You might as well get a used one off of eBay, simple. $100 to ship it is pretty damned exorbitant.

You could probably find one with a cracked screen on eBay for under $50. Not sure if it'd have the FW that you'd want, but at least you'd have a working system.

If your console bricked because of Gateway and you send it off to them, then they decide to lie and claim that you used a clone, when you know for a fact that you didn't, then they demand $100 or they don't return your 3DSIf your console bricked because of using the Gateway then there would be no other way.
I'd cut my losses and buy a second hand 3DS.Would you send it to N? or just put your bricked console on the shelf because you are scared to send a piece of bricked sh*t to stranger?
i would say that having the 3DS that you paid for, along with the Gateway you paid for, being held at ransom, is a lot worse than just having a bricked console.I just want to say that it can't get any worse if you have a bricked console.

There is plenty to do with a bricked console, one such things is use it as a paper weight, or use it as a doors step or even part of a bookshelf.

Same here, it'd be helluva lot less stressful to just buy a second-hand 3DS from Nintendo's online store (or a refurbished one, which is pretty cheap) than to have a bricked system, send it off and then have the GW team tell you it was a clone when you in fact didn't use one. Yeah, too much of a hassle. $100 fee my ass.
FYI, afaik, you wont be paying to send it or to get it back if you got a legitimate GW brick, you will use the vendor as a middle man, and your 3DS wont end up on aliexpress.. Honest..If the brick issue was fixable with a magical homebrew app, they wouldnt ask it to be sent in, they obviously have hardware methods

I really don't see what peoples issues are here. If you have a legit GW brick, then you have a simple choice,
1. Keep it forever and never use it again.
2. Mail it to GW and get it back fixed for FREE.
If on the other hand, it's not a legit GW brick and you send it, then don't pay the return postage and never see it again.
No matter how you look at it, you either get your 3DS fixed FOR FREE, or you are no worse off because currently, your 3DS IS A BRICK.
