I'm tired of all this immature whining about 3DS flash carts, so I thought I'd make a thread about this instead.

I bought one of the Datel Powersaves dongles and installed the software. Put in my NSMB2 cart and surprisingly there were no "power saves" available. Only "cheats"

Here's my problem - I 100%'d the entire game, got all the coins, max lives etc - but since I used the "super leaf" earlier in the game, it permanently screwed me so I wouldn't get "shiny stars." I wish I had known that. I'm NOT replaying the entire game.
(BTW, that's my eShop version, so I can't share *that* almost-100% save, sorry. I have a cartridge version that barely has any useful data on it)

Anyway - does anyone here have NSMB2 on a cartridge who's gotten 100% WITH the shiny stars (e.g. never used the super leaf)? If so, I'd love if you could upload your save from Powersaves - since the Datel software *does* let you share save files, unlike the previous dumpers which didn't know how to decrypt anything new.

(On that note, how *do* you get your saves out of the software? I am able to back up and restore my own local saves, but I can't find them on the PC anywhere. Surely they're saved somewhere and not just instantly uploaded online?)

Can't you get your shiny stars back by first beating the level you used the leaf in without the leaf, then beat it while collecting all the stars? And it's not called "super leaf", it's called "invincibility leaf" based on Nintendo's official game websites.

Saves of games from SM3DLand onwards (so this includes New Suoer Mario Bros 2) are tied to the cartridge.

I've got a GW save with 5 shiny stars. Only thing missing from that savefile is maxing coins and changing title screen. Its for USA version.

That was my assumption, but no.

When you beat it using the "invincibility leaf" (thanks, I didn't know the name), the circle stays blue, while opening up the path to the next level. It does not count as "complete" until you beat it without the invincibility leaf - then the circle turns red. But AFAIK it still screws you up, since I cannot get shiny stars.

I am aware of this, which is why I specifically mentioned the Powersaves device. Datel has some magic going on that can decrypt and re-encrypt saves (hence allowing you to use the "cheats" on your saves)

Hmm, I wonder if there's a way to give GW saves to the Datel software so I can put it on my legit game card?
