... a red boxed perfect condition 4.1 firmware 3DS XL for? I have a Gateway too, and will throw in an 8GB or 16GB card in depending on how expensive that would make it.
So how much would a fair price for this bundle be?

a very fair one would be 170 dollars, but it's probably too fair.
it depends on how much you paid every item.

For both? Gateway cost me $100 including shipping, are you joking? Surely a 4.1 3DS XL goes for quite a bit these days, especially if it's boxed and in perfect condition.

I'd say around $175 is fair.

You can get the Gateway for $68 shipped from some places, and <=4.5 3DS XL's are still in the wild, which means you can pick up a 3DS XL bundle (with a game) for $135 today at Target. The game download code can be sold for about $30 on eBay, so the total comes out to $68 + $135 - $30 = $173. Adjust the price a few percentage points for tax, shipping costs, hassle, etc., but that's the fairest price I'd say.

You're lowering the price due to a hypothetical game code?
You must be high.
Where I'm at the U.S. gold Zelda XL is going for 270 alone.

$150 + 10% special promo discount on all purchases because of Target's recent credit card leak = $135.

Dude are you serious? Lumping on all these hypothetical discounts? What a douchey thing to do.

I'm not in the U.S., therefore U.S. units like mine automatically go for more cause of language restrictions.

Buddy, Zelda 3DS XL's are going for $200-220 on eBay. Take out the game (which is going for $30+ on eBay), and you get $170 for just the 3DS XL on eBay. Retail you can get it for $135.

Here, worst case there is no download code, you can add another $30 to your price, and you get $205 fair price.

Not hypothetical my friend. Just stating the facts. If they go for more in your country and you seem to have a grasp on what their value is, why even bother ask what we think the fair price is? The analysis is based off of USA's price, adjust it accordingly to however your country does the conversion math.

I am telling you, the U.S. Zelda box in my city goes for 270. There's two up on Craigslist right now. I'm telling you, I don't need you to tell me.

4.1 3DS XL's should command a higher price IMO; I can guarantee mine's a 4.1; can you guarantee the one you buy at Target will be?

Yes, take a look at the thread on where to get <=4.5 consoles in this forum. Any serial number that starts with SW12 will be a <=4.5 console, which means you can guarantee it before buying.

If you're "telling me" the price, then use that as your fair price. Just because it's listed at $270 on Craigslist doesn't mean they'll actually sell for that much. I can list mine for $5000, but it doesn't make a difference.

You need to check up on what hypothetical means.

Don't think anything I said was "imagined as an example" or a "theory". Check eBay + the link I posted above for factual proof.

hy·po·thet·i·cal

adjective\ˌhī-pə-ˈthe-ti-kəl\
: involving or based on a suggested idea or theory : involving or based on a hypothesis
: not real : imagined as an example

If you don't like the price suggestions in this thread, why not just list it at whatever price you want?
