This is my first post on this great site so please bear with me. I was reading through a thread which
I can't seem to find at the moment about the saves of the retail carts. If I make a save game on emunand 6.3 in gateway classic mode with my Pokemon Y cart it becomes corrupted when I insert my Pokemon Y into my other non gateway 6.3 official firmware 3ds. If I first make the save on my ofw 6.3 3ds and insert
it into my gateway 3ds it also becomes corrupted. So my question is why does this happen with Pokemon Y and not with any of my other games like paper mario sticker star?

Red/Emu NAND uses the 4.1>4.5 KeyY (its just what happens because KeyY is decided upon console boot and not re-assisgned when booting into the SD NAND Image)
where all official NAND's on 6.0.0 + use the 6.0>6.3 KeyY

so they whatever the save was created with the Other believes its corrupted

I think I understand your explanation Pong but that doesn't explain why the corruption doesn't happen when creating a new save file with an older retail cart
like Paper Mario sticker Star. When I created a save with my brand new unopened Paper Mario sticker star on gateway classic and inserted it into my ofw 6.3 3ds
the save was there and not corrupted.

try copy the save file created into emunand. then u can list down the scenario here:-
A. GAMES BELOW 4.5
1. save created in ofw ---> copy to emunand
2. save created in emunand ---> copy to ofw

B. GAMES ABOVE 4.5
1. save created in ofw ---> copy to emunand
2. save created in emunand ---> copy to ofw
3. save created in emunand ---> copy to gateway mode
4. save created in gateway mode ---> copy to emunand

or maybe more possibilities that we can check.
