i've only tried with update emunand and it works like charm, no save problems or anything.

I would guess that it would simply work with or without emuNAND, since the game was originally developed back in 2012, so recent measures that have rendered newer games hard to play shouldn't be present (ex: being developed for 5.x).

It works on SysNAND, EmuNAND, updated and none updated, there are no games that work on 1 or the other, The same exact romset works in GW mode regardless
