Hacking 3DS Link and R4i Gold 3DS the same?

I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but the same day that r4ids.cn released a video on firmware 3.0 (emuNAND update), 3DS Link released the same video, and you cannot see the card they used in the video, so with both companies claiming that this firmware works, that means they are basically the same card? The 3DS Link can be found for around $10 less then the R4, making it the better deal right now, in my opinion.

It's all about marketing, but they are actually very lazy and seem to not care if costumers find out their dirty strategy.

R4i has become quite prestigious, so they can sell this brand for a more expensive price than 3DS Link, and this second one became the cheapest option for a 3DS cart so the competion is pretty much <R4i vs GW3DS vs R4i>, without taking in account the Orange 3DS, which site disappeared days ago and we are not sure about the background of this one.

Ok found the r4 3DS for as low as $56.90 with free shipping and the Link card for as low as $43 also with free shipping..mind you both cards coming from China via air mail with 10-20 working day delivery expected. I already have a Gateway but have two 4.5 units so wouldn't mind a second flash cart. I payed $75 + shipping at launch for Gateway so getting a kit for $43 is tempting.....are the DS link and r4 using the exact same launcher file? I just wonder if these cloners will get their new firmware out first...they make no mention of Nand save or multirom so maybe they will launch sooner and Gateway will come with more features....I guess we will find out when we find out but Gateway really needs to get a move on as Nintendo's new firmware update is announced for December and then we are all behind the curve again.

Dangit. Maybe I should have ordered from a US dealer. Got a good price on an R4 from a reputable China dealer for $42, and took the free shipping option. Said it will take roughly 4 weeks to get here. Geez....guess it's traveling by ship.
The next option for airmail was like $12 more, so I figured "screw it...free is free". ....you get what you pay for! lol
