This might be a stupid question, but would it be possible to load WAD. files off of an external hard drive rather than having them on the vWii so I won't have to worry about space or SD card issues?I use USB loader GX and if that's also possible there that would be awesome too.

Doesn't the vWii have an SC Card channel?

Just install the wad to the vWii, and then move it to the SD card. Unless I'm missing something and you are physically unable to install the wad to the vWii, I don't see why this cannot work.

I tried running USB loader GX and the SD card selection, it freezes for a moment and nothing changes. nothing from the SD shows unless theres a setting that I'm missing.

EDIT:
I CAN install to vWii, I just want to be able to show more games in the USB loader GX selections, and SD won't show. I'll play with it some more. thanks though

Just for information, EmuNAND creation (and usage) can be done in other loaders too. Not only with Wiiflow.
Just in case users are currently using another loader and they don't feel the need to change to another one they are not familiar with.

Yeah I can get all my VC on the homescreen to load up in USB loader GX,but nothing from the SD card will load. I'm going to try Wiiflow in a bit.

i dont think any of the usbloaders can load from an sd card in the way your attempting. i guess you have already installed a wad to your real nand and then copyied it to your sd card? if thats how uve done it then its wrong and go check out the other thread thats posted above

i would just like to point out as well that after creating an emunand you can choose wich usbloader you want (as long as its compatabal) usbloadergx and wiiflow seem most stable from experience

I've created an emunand and I think that's what's causing most of my issues now. I was fine until I extracted NAND in wiiflow, and ever since I've been having issues left and right, many freezes and cheats don't work anymore.

dude please read over and over in my other posts untill you understand what i mean (i dont mean to sound rude). by the sounds of it you have not created an emulated nand. you have just installed wad files to your real nand and then copying them to an sd card (this is why no loader will show it).
you say it loads the games that are on your homescreen through a loader...... thats because its reading your REAL nand NOT EMULATED nand.

and just because you extracted a nand within wiiflow doesnt mean its all set and ready to go so please go back through older posts

one more thing DO NOT EXTRACTED VWII NAND use a regular wii or create one with modmii (scrap the one you have if its a copy of vwii)

1: that thread confuses me, there are no direct instructions and they're all jumbled around.
2:You are correct, I have done just this
3:You are also correct
4:Refer to #1
5: where can I find a guide to create wii nand using modmii? (also scraping the vWii nand I extracted)

also if you could post step by step, I wouldn't sound so ignorant, but I can't go through a thread about someone elses experiences with things I already know about to sort it out, this is how I ended up where I'm at now, because I got lost in that thread and ended up winging it.

also thanks for clarifying. I was never good with NAND type deals so I never messed with it.

okay sorry to be a b??ch.

here goes the best way i can........

make sure your hard drive or sd card which ever your using is formatted to FAT32 with 32cluster bytes marked PRIMARY and ACTIVE (which you will need to make sure yourself it gets formatted with 32 clusters) (i couldnt get windows to do this for me so i used minipartition wizard its FREE on google)

!. get/create and emunand

there are two methods on how to do this. 1. use your original wii and use a loader/app that can extract your nand (i used wiiflow but your welcome to use any you find . or 2.download modmii on your pc and it is a very simple process (follow the on screen instructions)

2. once you have a created emunand you are ready to open it up with SHOWMII wads. inside this program it will ask you to create a common key sumthing like e45 (it will tell you on the screen). at the top it will say something in the setting about showmii wads. click it to showmii nand. if all has gone well then you will see your emulated nand infront of you on the screen. ashuming you have some wad files to install ?
just drag and drop as many as you like and it will automatically install them. then once done with that in your loader there maybe some setting but i can only guide you with wiiflow. when you load wiiflow for the first time with your emunand on it.
on the screen where your nand should show wiiflow will probable still only pick up your real nand so click settings and select partition press right so it says usb.
last but not least in wiiflow setting set emunand too full :) doneeee

if you have any more questions ill do my best to answer them and then add them into this post

would be good to see how you get on. just so you no wiiflow would be the lazy way to get your emunand its as simple as turn on you old wii load up wiiflow and extracted the nand . either way both methods are really easy. just be patient and ask me if you want to

Yeah I'm probably just going to make my own NAND as my old wii isn't in my current location
