Ok I have a 500gb hdd that's inside a NexStar CX usb hdd case (it comes with it's own power supply)
when I was using this for the Wii U I was able to play the wii u mario bros. from the hdd no problem.

Now I would like to use this hdd for vWii. At 1st I was using the 32 gb sd card and was playing from that no problem.... so i reformat the 500gb and then transfer everything that was on the sd to the hdd but when I started the vwii plug in the usb hdd (upper back slot) and then powered it on I don't see non of the apps or can play any of my backups.

My question is even though my hdd case has its own power supply is it possible that I would still need to purchase a Y-usb cable just for the vwii can pick up on my hdd?? or do I just have to set the hdd a certain way just so I can play backups?

Thanks in advance.

I could be wrong but I am assuming 2 things made be setup wrong.

1. Homebrew apps need to be on the sd card, not the HDD

2. You need a wii game loader on your pc to transfer your wii iso. files to the HDD if you have it formatted to wbfs. You might even need a manager if the HDD isn't formatted to wbfs. Not too sure but I think you do

I hope that helps.

ok the way i have mine setup is:
1tb hdd formatted 700gb for wbfs and the rest as fat32
wbfs manager to transfer the wii games to hdd
on the fat32 side i have it setup the same way i had my sd card
i installed channel forwarders for my usb loader and my emulators that point to sd and hdd
hope that can help you out
