Hacking MH3U DLC quest

Hi all, I am a newbie here. I just sold my 3DSXL with 6.2 firmware and bought a new 3DSXL with 4.4 firmware, well, I think most of us know what is the reason behind it...

Anyway, I still keep my original game cart such as MH3U and KH3D. Nevertheless, just want to ask one question, right now I can play MH3U in my 3DSXL with 4.4 firmware, but if I download the DLC quest in MH3U, will my firmware being updated? I really afraid the system will quietly updated itself when I downloaded the DLC quests in MH3U....

Can anyone give me some advice on this?

You won't be able to connect to the eshop unless you update.

Updates are never applied without you pressing Accept, and you have to press it twice. They're only downloaded and saved on the system.

But yeah, to even access the eShop, you have to be on the latest firmware.

Hell there. I've registered today, after weeks of lurking, to finally answer a post !

My 3DSXL has never been updated and is on fw 4.5. I play MH3U daily, sometimes with a friend, and I download the new DLC quests almost weekly.
I only activate the wireless switch when I'm in-game, to prevent the console from trying to dl and/or update. I can guarantee you that it works flawlessly.
