Hardware Acer Laptop Keyboard Not Working

Ok so yesterday my Acer laptop decided its keyboard wasnt needed any longer and just stopped working,the scrollpad and mouse buttons work just fine and a usb mouse works as well.I scanned the laptop with these

SuperAnti spyware
Malwarebytes Antispyware
Microsoft Security Essentials

Well a few things came up nothing major and they were cleaned off (did double and triple scans to make sure) yet the keyboard still does not wish to work. I've also tried

Uninstalling the driver and restarting
FN + f5/ f6/ f7 ect...
On Screen keyboard works just fine
hitting it with a hammer.... (jk)

Im out of ideas guys!

Use either your Windows install CD or a Linux Live CD (you can download an Ubuntu one here) and boot off of that.

If you can type in either of the above two cases, then it's a software issue. If not, then it's a hardware issue.

Knowing Acer, it's most likely fault hardware. I would suggest trying the above with a Linux Live CD/USB, but you should probably just buy a new keyboad off ebay or something and replace it.

Is it just the FN+??? combinations (in which case you'll need the Acer's Hotkey manager) or the entirety of the keyboard?

Also, lol@AcerLaptopsNotWorkingCorrectly - what a shocker. We had a conversatiouton about this with someone haven't we Tom?

Well for some reason it just started working on its own yesterday,idk what happened but it stopped for about an week then all sudden works?? Weird......

I still strongly recommended getting a replacement keyboard. It's entirely possible this may happen again and for good.

The laptop has served its time over these last few years i think im gonna sell it and upgrade soon Idk what to upgrade to though since i already have a gaming Desktop PC built,i guess i just need one that will serve plenty of years again like the old one has lol

before you sell it, take out the harddisk anr reformat it 10 times (so they cannot recover your formatted data that easily)
