Sega launching new Sonic cartoon - "Sonic Boom"

I have a lot of things to say about the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise, most of them unkind. However, I don't want to be burned at the stake here, so I'll just move to the news.

This certainly came out of nowhere – a source has tipped us off that Dave Polsky, writer for such TV shows and movies like South Park, Frank TV, Scary Movie, and My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, was dropping hints at the Ohio-based My-Little-Pony-themed convention Trotcon that he was currently writing episodes for a new Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon under the name of “Sonic Boom“.

...we’re still waiting to see if our source can elaborate more, but early reports indicate that it is a “Pony-esque reboot of the cartoon series”.

This was coming from trotcon(brony convention), no doubt it's not a coincidence.
Sonic has gone through SHIT, killing off fans faster than Sonic himself!Launching a show at this time is not a surprise.

Ahh my childhood. Sonic Underground was running reruns when I was 8 during the time I was waiting to go to school. Damn if it wasn't amazing, not sure how well it's story would hold up now... :/

I really hope they take the good parts of MLP (Oh noes! MLP had good parts? Of course it did, or else there wouldn't be bronys). If they make Sonic into a pony I will go down to whoever storyboarded this and strangle them myself.

No one thought they would turn sonic into a fighter, or that they would release a buggy ass game. You know what? They did. I hope they make this good and not shit on the fanbase even more than they already have.

As with all new cartoons based on a series I like, I'll watch it for an episode or two. That'll determine if I like it, I'm not going to prejudge it before even any pictures of it are released.

Oh god, those were dark times indeed. Sonic X was far better fan service. But in all honesty, I've never seen a truly good anime/cartoon based of a video game, or a movie for that fact. Well... ones that keep to the actual game, they always distance themselves.
