This title [Altered Beast] hits the Japanese eShop on 29th May, will support the two-player option and cost 600 Yen. It adds to the steadily growing list of reimagined retro SEGA delights, and given Nintendo's cosy relationship with its former rival we certainly hope to see them come West.

Well, it is good to see that they are putting REAL classics now. This game (and sonic) shows how close ninty and sega are at this momment.

Not Genesis version. :/ And so far we really haven't seen any of the 3D classics that Japan got, have we? The ones we have now are just VCs. Until that gets sorted out, I'll try not to get excited about this.

Am I the only one who thought this game was boring and gets way too much praise than what it deserves? Main attack? SHIN KICK!

I"m of two minds on Altered Beast:

1. My little kid mind when it came out in arcades: "whoa, this is ****ing awesome!"

2. And my present state of mind on the game: "God, kids are so ****ing dumb."

I did, however, enjoy the PS2 'remake'.

I played this on Genesis and it was terrible. There is really nothing cool about it. There is nothing satisfying about kicking those gray or brown wolves. Even transforming into other creatures isn't very cool.
The most entertaining thing about the game is the beginning when the god says "Wise fwom yo gwave" in the very beginning."

I think something like Streets of Rage, Golden Axe or Double Dragon, where you actually move in and out of the playfield, would benefit a whole lot more from being a 3D classic

2D is fine *if* it has loads of parallax....which this game does not.

This game is shit. One of many titles from SEGA that people liked when it first came out but plays like a fish trying to swim through treacle.

Tip to Shenmue fans: Don't kill your memory of that game by replaying it either.

I honestly hope we get this title in NA, I mean it's not a lengthy game nor is it that difficult to beat. I have a few reasons why I want this game despite what others may think. This game has a lot of memories tied to it for my long since past childhood and I plan on having my daughter play this game as well so she will enjoy it as much as I have ^_^

(The Genesis ver. would be better due to you being able to choose which beast you wanted for which stage ^_^ )

Shenmue is still very unique. Still tells a great story too.
