Zelda Classic started out as a Zelda engine-clone. Thanks to the applications growing community it now supports a variety of custom levels and complete Zelda-themed games. Linked to the Past is one such game with a nod towards the SNES classic, featuring time travel and Zelda 1 influences.

Features:
  • 30 different dungeons!
  • Solid 30 hours of gameplay
  • Every single dungeon is guarded by a custom boss, and there are also a few sub-bosses thrown in for good measure, so I hope you enjoy fighting bosses as much as I do
  • Many optional secrets to find
  • The quest takes influences from several Zelda games but the biggest influence is still Zelda 1, so if you're a Zelda 1 hater, this is probably not for you

mmmmmm gonna try to digg up all ma old game saves, dungeons n files :)

Last time I played Zelda Classic I was in grade school...like 5th or 6th grade (I have been outta school for four years now). I enjoyed it thoroughly and this is what I actually beat Zelda 1 on...Might need to reinstall the puppy and play some games.

Just gave it a shot for an hour or so. Totally gonna play through it. Thanks for the recommendation, AW.

I, too, played ZC as a kid. Maybe at the age of 12/13. It was a blast then and I'm glad to see a project go on for so long and still get support.

so what is this? a PC game? or does it run on a particular platform?
the main post doesn't mention it...
Zelda Classic is a remake of the first LoZ game (from the NES), and there are versions for DOS, Windows, Linux and MacOS. The developers created a whole game engine, and there are custom maps/levels/quests/dungeons/games made in the engine.

I wonder if I could run it in DOSbox on my DS

Classic games are best played on an handheld. Thought that was a SNES rom. So not interested at this point.

On a related note, "Files available for download on this site are the property of their original creators."
I think that means that you aren't allowed to upload it on filetrip without consent of the authors. Just sayin'

Well, I got Zelda Classic to stop having siezures by running it as an admin, but no matter where I put that QST file for Linked To The Past, it never shows up.

download from here instead that other file is a bs installer it tries to bribe you into installing bs toolbars and other scam shit plus the zip it finally downloaded was corrupt :whip:

enter a name, push left alt, left alt again, browse for the file , OK

I got out of the damn forest maze by a fluke!

I'm so confused and lost. The direction in the game isn't the best. Walking through random walls and shit don't sit well with me.

Either way, It's enjoyable, for sure. I'm just not sure what to do after getting the candle.
